WE Family Volunteer Ecuador Trip

Three years ago our 12 year old daughter Nya came home excited to tell us about this amazing organization that her teacher encouraged her to check out. This was our first introduction to Me to We. Me to We is an organization that empowers youth to create change in the world through helping others and have a voice in the importance of giving back.
Since then, Nya has participated in selling rafiki bracelets, educating her peers and going to WE events. This past summer she attended the Take Action Camp in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada where she met friends from around the world and pledged to go home and continue to give back in her community. Now as a family, "WE" too are helping to make changes through small everyday actions. We have attended WE Day Canada and WE Day Family Toronto and are inspired to now take action on a world level.
Our family (Tony, Nya and Rachel) are now on a journey to raise money to Volunteer on a WE trip to Ecuador March 30th, 2019! This will Immerse us into a WE community and give us the opportunity to engage with the local families. Getting involved with such tasks as building a school, farming the local chocolate crops and taking part in cultural activities.
WE villages and communities benefit from foundations such as WE by getting support and funds to keep a community moving forward. Volunteers like ourselves help to achieve goals like bringing clean drinking water or building a school for our youth to learn and thrive.
The trip will cost roughly $10,000 with everything from flights, accomodation, transportation and supplies needed to be paid for. gofundme is one avenue we are using to help reach our ultimate goal along with some charity events and the selling of the WE Rafiki Bracelets that help raise money for many different causes in underprivilaged communities such as clean drinking water, education and so on. Any funds collected above and beyond our goal will go directly to these very causes.
WE strongly believe in understanding how lucky we are to be living as WE do. But sometimes that is taken for granted, and need to experience endevours such as this so WE appreciate what WE have been blessed with. Having the support of friends, family and people like you would truly be nothing short of amazing and will allow us to regain our appreciation for the lives WE live.
Greatful would not begin to describe the feelings WE would have of reaching our goal. Each and every one of you would be a part of our journey to help a community in need and would always be remebered for helping us take part in this life changing experience. No matter the amount, every penny is so appreciated.
