Neighbors Helping Neighbors

PHNA proudly and formally announces its new committee: “Neighbors Helping Neighbors”!

After weeks of meetings we have finalized the details of a needed and forward looking committee aptly called “Neighbors Helping Neighbors”.

Our Mission:

1)      To help those neighbors physically or financially unable to maintain their alleys and easements through a bi-annual neighborhood cleanup.    These will coincide with Bulk Trash placement for easy debris removal.

2)      If an alley or easement cleanup is too large for our group of volunteers we have created www.gofundme.com/PHNAShines to annually raise funds to pay for these cleanups.

Our first cleanup will be Saturday, September 28th, from 8am to noon.    The volunteers will be clearing the alley going North from Earll to Osborn between 26th Place and 27th Street.   We are in need of volunteers to make this happen.   If you can chip in for a lot, or just a little raking, all help is VERY Much appreciated.    Please Contact Jeff Blasé to volunteer at [phone redacted] or [email redacted] as soon as you can.

The group will meet that morning at Jeff’s home, at 2621 E. Earll Drive, 8am.    Again, reach out to Jeff for more complete details, and if he should need equipment, or have it for you.

THANK YOU in advance to our volunteers!!!!

As you may know, our big annual events are Breakfast in The Park (October 12, 2019), Luminarias (December 21, 2019) and a yet to be scheduled Movie and Ice Cream Social/Neighborhood of Yard Sales  in the spring. All about fun and family.  We all know there are many other private events throughout the neighborhood, but these are the three we sponsor.

The voluntary annual dues and Luminaria donations you currently make are what pay for these events.    The association currently has a little over $2,100 in savings.    That a little low, but we generally hover around that amount.

In the past year, we’ve used association funds to pay for 2 larger cleanups, and a large portion of 1 SRP Flood irrigation gate repair.    Which is fine, but our regular PHNA account cannot sustain that type of ongoing expense.     That’s another reason for our PHNAShines GoFundMe Annual fundraiser.

We hope you are as happy living in Phoenix Homesteads as we are.  We also hope you will volunteer some of your time to help us clean, trim chop and weed.  And for those who can, please consider donating some of your treasure through our new “Go Fund Me” site and help make our neighborhood even better.

We are always open to your thoughts and comments, and again, as a voluntary HOA, we have no authority, but we do have big hearts.  Come and join us in any way that you can.

Respectfully, Your Phoenix Homesteads Board
