On Tyranny Books to Congress

We are an ad hoc group of American citizens vitally concerned about what is happening in our country and we need your help. You will see from our photo that we are moms and grandmothers. We are also fathers, grandfathers, aunts and uncles who are determined to inundate our leaders with a critical message set forth by Dr. Timothy Snyder, a Yale history professor whose expertise is the history of totalitarian regimes of the last century.
Dr. Snyder has written a small book on how those regimes gained and kept power and how the same kinds of tactics are being used here in the U.S. today. The book, entitled "On Tyranny: 20 Lessons from the 20th Century", posits that while these are frightening times, we have the advantage of being able to learn from past experience.
Our eyes were opened by reading the book, but we believe the people who REALLY NEED to read it are our leaders in Congress, regardless of party affiliation. Therefore, our goal is to deliver copies of Professor Snyder’s book to the District office of each member of the House of Representatives and each Senator. This project is not affiliated in any way with the publisher, Penguin Random House. It is a 100% grassroots effort developed strictly in response to the needs of our time.
How can you help?
• We need funds for books, envelopes, and postage.
• We need people willing to deliver the books in person to the local offices of their Senators and Representatives.
Everyone who agrees to be a “deliverer” will receive a complimentary copy of Snyder’s book and, more importantly, will be involved in a project
that has the power to change minds and possibly save our democracy.
Deliverers will be provided with the books and all of the information to proceed.
Deliverers can help us document our successes by taking photos of deliveries to document our successes.
Even if some members of Congress don’t actually read the book, we will know that we have done our part in ringing the alarm to heed the lessons of history.
