Hello! My name is Diane Woods Carter. The stage is my home and where I am most alive. I live to sing! Recently, I travelled to LA to record several of my newest original songs. The cost to release this CD and gain radio play is approximately $3,600. I am asking for your backing so that I will own my original songs, recordings, and continue to develop my music career.
Let Me Explain. Earlier this year I underwent heart replacement surgery at Duke Hospital. I was there for months awaiting a new heart and so many people prayed for me. Fast forward to today and I am swamped with overwhelming ongoing medical expenses, plus medical debt. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to still on this side of the dirt! My friends have been working overtime to help me recover, achieve my goal to book gigs, and make others happy by sharing my music. I invite you to come hear me sing at Sullivan's Steak House and The Wakefield Wine Cellar in Raleigh.
My Backstory. I've been blessed to have a good life. So many people have been instrumental in launching my recording career. I began as a backup singer and studio vocalist, performing with Teena Marie, Rick James, Shirley Caesar, plus Richard Street of The Temptations- and so many more. For several years I've wanted to go out on my own as a solo artist, but my years of heart trouble got in my way of achieving this dream.
WHY $3,600? Record labels tend to pay artists only a fraction of the money your music actually makes, so it is important to own all the rights to your music and recordings. I looked everywhere, found the best folks in the industry with the most affordable prices possible. I've called in some favors and crunched all the numbers. $3,600 may seem like a lot, or it may seem like chump change. However you view it, it's literally the very best deal I could find. My musician friends, who have recorded sessions with me previously, sat in a room with me for hours upon hours to help me arrange the music and make the recordings of my dreams. This price is an absolute gift. As you heard in my song I'm Dying Inside, the mix sounds awesome. I have a talented team and I wouldn't want to be taking on this project with anyone else. They are giving me a sweet deal!
