The NC Child Care Coalition is the statewide advocacy voice for early education. Since 1990, the Coalition has been promoting high quality early care and education that benefits over a 100,000 young children and families every year.
The Coalition includes a statewide network of early education leaders, child care providers, early education teachers, parents, and community supporters. Together, we have worked hard to develop the state's leading early education programs including Smart Start and NC Pre-K, and ensure that young children and families across the state have access to high quality early care and education.
Help us save the Coalition's Action Center! The Coalition has been able to provide its Action Center as a free service for years thanks to the generosity of Child Care Aware, but all that ends September 30, 2016. We now urgently need to find another host and will have to pay for the Action Center for the first time ever in our history.
The Coalition must raise $5,000 to set up another Action Center for 2017. This is a FREE resource that the Coalition extends to anyone interested in working with us to advance high quality education in North Carolina. You don’t have to be a Coalition member to use the Action Center. But of course, we would love to have you as a member, so please visit our website if you are interested.

We honestly just don't have the financial resources to be able to continue to offer this unique service free to thousands of early education advocates across the state. It's critically important that we continue this strategic tool that connects early education advocates and state policymakers.

Why is the NC Child Care Coalition's Action Center so important?
The Coalition's Action Center allows early education advocates to quickly and easily communicate with state policymakers on important early education issues.
From the Coalition's Action Center, we send out important updates about what's happening in the early education field and timely alerts about when it's time to 'Take Action' to promote early education with state policymakers. These updates and alerts reach thousands of early education advocates across the state. At the Action Center, early education advocates can quickly send a pre-crafted message or generate a personal message to their own state legislators and other state leaders.
Last year alone, the Coalition's Action Center participants sent out over 4,000 email messages to state policymakers.
And legislators listened! During the 2016 Short Session, together we achieved remarkable results for early education against overwhelming odds. Funding was increased for NC Pre-K and Child Care Subsidies and child care programs will receive better subsidy reimbursement rates which means more families will have access to high quality early education. New legislative studies will help advance the early education system in the years ahead.
