Muncie Skate Park Initiative is a small group of people with a big dream. Our team has formed a partnership with Hunger Skate Parks and the owner of Peru Skate Park to successfully help the city of Muncie acquire its very own concrete skate park. After many months of designing and planning, we are currently at a price tag of $250,000+ that covers the costs material, labor, and equipment.
We are looking at all avenues to help alleviate this price. The majority of the fundraising will be through grants, foundations, and in-kind donations, but in order for us to break ground, we’ll need your help.
Every donation matters. All funds will be used to help pay for all expenses accumulated in building the skate park. We take pride in the level of skill and creativity of the people who are turning this dream into a reality. This estimated price includes paying the designer, Hunger Skate Parks, to not only design the park but also coordinate the construction. Through their expertise and guidance, the facility in Muncie will be top quality.
No detail is going unnoticed. This price also includes covering the costs of renting construction equipment, all of the material, and making sure that this skate park is safe and skateable. Every dollar will be funneled through the community foundation fund (non-profit status) once the fund is established in early December.
We want to start making moves. Our projected start date for construction is the spring of 2017, but first, we need your support. We want to be able to lock all of the necessary services in before we break ground.
This project is not only for those who pick up a skateboard. The Muncie Skate Park Initiative believes in building a legacy. We believe in community. We believe in dreams.
