on behalf of Linda Mcclaughry
 MOUNT VERNON, WA
On 12/15/16 Officer Mike McClaughry was investigating a disturbance call when he was shot in the head. Mike was transported to the hospital where had surgery and is currently is stable and critical condition. Although the extent of the damage unknown at this time, the family and medical professionals anticipate a lengthy recovery.

Mike has been a police officer for Mount Vernon Police Department for over 30 years. He was looking forward to retiring. He loves his job and serves his community, as both a police officer and as a citizen, with integrity and honor.

Mike's wife, Linda, their children, family, friends, and law enforcement community are by his side right now. As a community, let's come together and support officer McClaughry, his wife, and their children during this terrifying time of their life. I know his family appreciates your prayers and I ask that you continue to lift Mike up in prayer. Let's also show support to Mike and Linda by donating to Mike's fund.   Thank you.

Hello everyone! I'm sure most of you know but just in case you haven't seen, my dad came home yesterday! It was a great day full of love, support and overwhelming emotions.

The next step of my dads journey is beginning and he is working on embracing his vision impairment while being hopeful that it will return in time. We are also hopeful that his brain will heal and his vision will be restored but it is really an unknown factor right now.

The support we have received has been so unbelievable and I know that my dad feels like he will never be able to thank everyone enough for their support, donations, time, well wishes, etc.

All of us thank you so much and we will continue to keep you updated although the updates will be a bit more infrequent as from here on out it is just working on recovery.

Everyone stay tuned for a press conference tomorrow, 1/6 at 1:15 pm. I will be talking about the progress that my dad has made and where he is currently health wise!

Thank you all for your kind comments and generous donations!! For me personally, it has helped me to take time off of work to be with family, my dad and to work on the very tiring and time consuming social media my dad has formed. He's wayyyyy more popular than I am but seriously happy to do it!! Check out and follow my dads Facebook page under Officer Mike McClaughry if you haven't! :)

Hi everyone, My name is April McClaughry and Officer Mike McClaughry is my father. I just wanted to say thank you all for your love and support during this hectic and scary time. None of us are looking for financial compensation but we all know how bills can arise in such a situation and just wanted to thank you all for your generosity. It's extremely heart warming and I am shocked at all the support that has come from everywhere. All of it is amazing and it really helps having the support. Thank you all! ❤️

Thank you everyone. My sister said it better than I could. It's just like a horrible nightmare that I wish we could all wake up from. It's been very hard. Seeing my grandma after she comes out of his room is the hardest thing. Again thank you everyone for your support.

I wish I could write a comment for each individual donation but it won't let me so I just wanted to say, wow! Thank you all for the generous donations. From $5 to $1,000 our family appreciates every single penny big or small. Please know that this will only be put to good use, paying for lost wages, continued medical care, treatments and alterations. It means so much to us all and I know my dad will be completely floored to know the support that he and his family have received! ❤️️❤️️
