Helping Abbie Save the Monarchs

Abbie has dedicated a big part of her life for the past five years to saving the nearly-endangered monarch butterflies. She has does this by spreading the knowledge of their plight, by raising and releasing caterpillars, and by emphasizing the importance of planting milkweed.

As she's grown, so have her goals and ambitions. It's her hope to plant multiple monarch way stations (pollinator gardens) this summer and she's really come up with some great ideas and strategies to get that accomplished. For example, she has an appointment with the mayor of our town this week to discuss a township-approved public garden! (For real... I'm so stinking proud!!) And she is also in the process of becoming a 501c3 nonprofit organization (reminder... she's TEN!).

You have given my girl all the support she could possibly need to succeed, it'd mean the world to our family (and to the butterflies!) if you help us make sure that nothing, especially money, stands as a roadblock to her doing great things for our little blue planet. Just to give you an idea of expenses we're anticipating, each garden will cost a minimum of $350 to install but the bigger the garden, the bigger the cost (she already has 3 confirmed locations and is actively working on more), incorporation in Pennsylvania (a necessary step in applying for 501c3 status) costs $150, and also she has begun to incur recurring costs such as web hosting and marketing materials. Even if you're only able to chip in $5, that buys us one plant and every single one helps!
