It is with a heavy heart that I post this news. Meredith Lee Garcia passed away on Friday, May 4th. We started this journey on March 22nd of last year and we have battled this horrible disease with great determination and hope. Our doctors and nurses at Northwestern Memorial Hospital have been amazing and together we explored chemotherapies in addition to the most recent immunotherapy regimen. She fought hard until the end and insisted on never giving up hope that her body would start fighting back as much as she mentally fought back. She was a mother, wife, sister, daughter, neighbor and friend. Pray for a peace that surpasses all understanding.
