Katt's Nursing Trip to Africa
Donation protected
Hello friends, family, coworkers and loved ones! As many of you know, I am entering my last year of nursing school this fall, and as part of my nursing program I have been offered the amazing opportunity to travel to Uganda this summer. My colleagues and I will be traveling to the Bwindi Commmunity Hospital in Kanungu and offering our healthcare services to the underserved populations in the region. Bwindi Community hospital has been a vital healthcare provider in the area since 2003 and offers services such as HIV & Tuberculosis testing, treatment and education, reproductive health treatments and education, pediatric care, and surgeries. While this is a "very few times" in a lifetime opportunity, unfortunatley, it is not free. Although I work as much as I can while in school, this trip does come at a substantial cost to me. If you are so gracious as to donate to my trip your donation will go directly to travel expenses. This includes airfare, food, supplies, visa fees, and vaccinations (they're not free either!). I realize that not every one is a position to make fiscal donations and I would be just as thrilled with any travel advice or suggestions as this is my first time going to Africa. Going on a service trip like this one, has been a lifelong dream of mine and I greatly appreciate any and all help toward accomplishing said dream! Thank you in advance for all your help!
