I am Jamie Perry’s sister,  Claudia & I am currently doing all I can, every single minute, from across the country,  ... to help her to get her life back. On the morning of October 10th, my sister Jamie called me with some devestating news. At approximately 11:30pm  the night before (Sunday, October 9th), she, along with her entire neighborhood, was ordered to evacuate IMMEDIATELY! No time to grab much of anything, for a fire from Nun's Canyon was fast approaching.  As far as I know all she had time to grab was her phone, her two cats in their carriers and one of her cars. Her home is now one of over 200 homes in her area of Glen Ellen,  that was quickly destroyed by fire along with everything in it and around it. As of that night the fire was still not contained and many parts of Glen Ellen and Santa Rosa were destroyed. The beautiful countryside & vineyards that she used to see everywhere are now on fire or smouldering & completely unrecognizable.

Thankfully, she and her neighbors all  got away safely, however, this place was not only her home, it was her livelihood. Her entire business, her works of art, her originals and prints, frames, photographs and many many things that can never be replaced have now vanished. However, My sister is a strong individual. She has been through so much in her past and has learned to deal with whatever comes her way and how to survive. She has lived there for more than 30 years and it was basically all she had, yet now there is nothing left. She was recently widowed & continued to live by her craft not knowing what her future would hold, and altho those fires were out there, it was totally  unexpected.  Jamie has always been fun & loving and it always shows in her artwork and no matter what problems came her way, she found ways to overcome them through her art & she found comfort thru her extreme love for her cats, (or anyone's cats!), music, cooking and most importantly her family & friends. She has never asked for anything from anyone and always has put other's needs before her own...I cannot stop thinking about her & what will be next and I have had Tom Petty's song, "I Won't Back Down" in my head all day... (one of our favorite musicians). I know that is my sister's spirit, but I feel that this time she could use all the help she can get & I'm going to do whatever I can to keep her spirits up. I have seen this before with my best friend & it will be,  I want to say, "a difficult adventure"... ? And I'm praying that something good can & will come out of this, eventually... Because with Jamie, she is not one to back down.

And so because we all could use some joy in our lives, if you would like to help in any way, I am providing it for her here.  Any funds she could have available to her as soon as possible would be so wonderful, so that she may use it for those small essentials we take for granted everyday, for meals, for gas, for clothing, medication, etc. to find a place to live along with her two cats, to replace anything she may immediately need or to use this fund for...whatever she chooses to have a life again. She loves life and deserves to be happy. I am asking if you would like, please help in making this happen... I would so appreciate any help that anyone can offer... We love her so much... <3  As Tom Petty would sing... "Well, I Won't Back Down". If anyone would like to contact me on her behalf, feel free to do so by emailing me here & I will do my best to carry out your ideas or thoughts... I will keep updates here once we know what is happening so stay tuned and Thanks so much in advance...

Help spread the word by copying the link and sharing it on your page... The more that hear about her, the more can help... <3

(Written by Jamie’s sister, Claudia LaMasters Buchalter) Apologies for the delays in notifications, updates, replies and thank yous... but have been honoring Jamie’s wishes in allowing her to “get somewhat settled” for it has been such an emotional journey. I just feel you all are concerned as to what is going on with my sister, Jamie. She has finally found residence in Sacramento and is slowly acclimating to the surroundings and starting over again to make a house a home. She basically moved in to a hollow shell with literally nothing but her cats, some clothes and bare essentials. In time she will let you all know when she has furniture, a drawing board, pencils and will be back in her element... Will keep in touch when she can... hugs & purrs, (or the other way around)... claudia ,‍❤,️

Hi Everyone... So we have a new update from Jamie...She is in the process of starting her website all over again so we are using it to also update everyone here with a little tweaking from me: Thanks for understanding our “Sister-Partnership” while she is still trying desperately to settle (literally)... Here is to New Beginnings:
March 17, 2018
I’m writing this from my 3rd floor room in a comfortable pet-friendly hotel. As I hunt and peck at this keyboard, my two cats Whoopi and Suzy-Q are sitting on their respective window sills staring at a road full of miniature cars moving quickly, then stopping as bright traffic lights change colors. They’ve never been in a building this tall. It’s only 4 floors high but for them it’s (quite literally) another dimension!

I’m also seeing the world from a very different purr-spective as I hunt for a new home, in a new city, putting together the pieces of my life. Those of you who know me realize that the last few years have been difficult ones. As the Cats and I were finally getting used to life without my husband Michael (who died in 2013), the Nuns Canyon Fire took (almost) everything I had: my home, my business, and my artworks. Now here we are, starting over again.

I again want thank everyone - my family, friends, and collectors - for ALL the support you’ve given me through this ordeal. I so appreciate all of you who’ve graciously offered your own J. S. Perry cat prints for me to resell and restart my business. I thank those of you who have original drawings for the opportunity to work from those pieces to create new files for reproduction in the future. Thank you all again ~ but unfortunately, I need a place to set up my life first, and then see how it evolves...

There are, however, master print files that were kept outside of my studio. This will be the collection with which I’ll be starting my website. I’ll be sure to let everyone know once it’s up and ready & If you are interested in any of these limited edition giclees, you will be able to again email me. In the meantime, please keep me in your thoughts & again many, many thanks to everyone.
Purrs, Jamie
So we will keep everyone in the loop once we know more, and Jamie has a place and is settled in with Whoopi & Suzie-Q. Feel free to email me (Claudia) in the meantime for she currently has no setup as of yet & I will forward anything I can to her or you can reach her thru me on Facebook . I will gladly give you my phone # as well if you want to talk. Again, if anyone has any ideas or knows of any homes for rent in the Sacramento area (for a reasonable price), please get to me ASAP & I’ll be sure she gets in touch with you. She is after all, Starting Over & it’s a Whole New Beginning... Thanks again in advance,
Claudia xoxo

So, Hello to all...
It has been quite sometime since I've updated this page and let you know what's been happening with my dear sister, Jamie. We were hoping to have good news and only time could tell. Unfortunately Oregon was not a good fit so Jamie has moved back to California with Whoopie & SuzieQ in tow. She is currently looking for a place to make a new residence and re-establish her business in the vicinity of Sacramento. If anyone can offer assistance & knows of housing or residence available or knows anyone else who can do the same, please spread the word. (You can contact me privately through Jamie or my Facebook page) There are so many that are already asking for Jamie's wonderful artwork and she cannot begin again without a place to create... The sooner the better for Jamie & her cats <3 Love & purrs to all... We can't wait to see what could be in her future... xoxo
(p.s. my apologies to those who received this a few times... was trying to fix some gliches)

Hello to everyone and wishing you all much good health & happiness for 2018. Because of all you, we can express our sincere appreciation in assisting Jamie to get a great head start in whatever future endeavors she may undertake. We’ve made a nice jump over the half-way mark and have just a little ways to go to meet our goals. So that you all are aware, the once beautiful valley where Jamie had resided is still in complete ruins and there was nothing salvagable for her to keep nor was there anything left for her to go back to.

In the duration of her 30 years plus that she had lived in the Glen Ellen area, property values have skyrocketed, whether a dwelling is on it or not. It has become totally out of Jamie’s league to live there now, whether she own or rent, which she did the latter. There is nothing to be found even in the surrounding vicinity that hasn’t tripled or quadrupled the total of what she was paying. As a result (if you’ve not heard by now) Jamie is planting new roots and moving in with a friend in Coquille, OR for the time being, still uncertain as to what life’s new turns lie ahead. She made the move a couple of days before Christmas and is still gaining her bearings along with her two cats, Whoopi & Suzy Q. It is an entirely different lifestyle than what she was accustomed, altho very beautiful... but still a major adjustment. She still will be acknowledging everyone individually to thank you all for thinking of her once the “dust settles”.

I will update you via Jamie until she can take over on her own and be glad to answer any questions you may have, get in touch with her directly for you or you may contact me directly by email or Facebook to obtain her personal address so you can write to her yourself. As they say, “No news is Good News”, and with Jamie’s strength and all your prayers & support, She is definitely landing on her feet again with whatever new adventure she plans to undertake. She is a fighter & not once will she back down...

I have come to find that she is so fortunate to have so many fantastic and wonderful friends and connections out there...It is awesome to know how much my sister is loved... xo

Purrs from Jamie, myself and all our kitties... & again,

Ps: Please don’t forget to go to & utilize the link below as well as repost, share & email it to others so that we can help Jamie “Ring In the New Year” with less of a struggle...
