This July, my family, friends and others in the community will be going on the Huguenot Memorial Church mission trip to Nicaragua to build homes with and for residents of the small village of Nindiri. The trip is managed by Bridges to Community, a highly respected non-profit that runs sustainable development programs in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

As part of this trip, we need to raise $5,000 dollars to buy building supplies. So far we have raised a bit under $2,000. I am organizing this fundraiser to ensure that we meet our target.

As inspiration, I would like to ask you to sponsor me for the race I am going to be running on May 6th. I will be running the North Face Challenge Half Marathon over Bear Mountain.  According to the race guide, the course is 13.7 miles, and involves an elevation climb of 2,324 feet (total elevation change of 4,648 feet). I have been doing hill repeats and rigorous training for months to try to prepare for this challenge. Last year only 19 women in my age group even finished the course. Your sponsorship will help motivate me to finish and will help our group meet our fundraising goals. Please consider sponsoring me per mile run (e.g. $ x 13.7 miles)  or per foot climbed (e.g. $ x 2,324 feet).
