I am Steve Blaha and a volunteer on this project with the Heart of Hollywood Foundation and the Hollywood United Methodist Church. Haiti needs our help now more than ever.
January 12, 2010 - A devastating magnitude 7.0 earthquake crippled the impoverished country of Haiti. 3 million people were impacted. More than 300,000 lives perished.
October 4, 2016, Hurricane Matthew struck the southern shores of the island nation. 175,000 people were displaced into 307 shelter locations with over 1.2 million people in need and over 806,000 people in need of immediate food assistance.
This will be my 3rd trip (2011, 2013, 2017) to help the wonderful people of Haiti to finish a desperately needed medical clinic in the poor, remote area of Sobier, Haiti.
I am on the team of volunteers from The Heart of Hollywood Foundation (H.H.F.) and the Hollywood UMC (the church with the giant red AIDS ribbon) to go to Sobier, Haiti from January 13 – January 21, 2017. I will be giving my time and smile to continue helping our Haitian friends rebuild their communities. All monies raised will be transferred to the non-profit Heart of Hollywood Foundation who will purchase all the travel, building materials and hire the local laborers.

Our trip funds are for airfare, housing, food, local Haitian laborers and site building materials for the week, which comes to approximately $3,230 per volunteer or $16,150 total. We will be purchasing building materials and employing local Haitian laborers including interpreters, drivers and guest house staff/cooks. It's awesome that our trip has a direct impact on the Haitian economy!
Every penny you donate to this campaign will be taken by me and put into a check made out to the non-profit Heart of Hollywood Foundation and goes directly to funding this project in Haiti.
