Help Ghana's Kids See Black Panther




Marvel’s much-anticipated Black Panther has premiered in theaters around the world, this powerful movie is already breaking records. With your help, we can set one more: hosting the biggest free movie screening for Ghanaian children and their families in history. What better movie to screen en masse in Ghana - the first African nation to gain independence from Europe - than this one featuring the powerful, advanced kingdom of Wakanda?

Our goal amount will cover the cost of renting out two screens at Accra Mall Cinema and two screens at West Hills Mall Cinema for one day each on March 3, 2018. Seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Each child and their one accompanying adult will get free admission to Black Panther and receive a coupon for a free child sized popcorn and drink from the concession stand.

As Africans on the continent and in the Diaspora reconnect and embrace the principles of self-love, self-reliance, and self-empowerment, providing strong African images to our children is of fundamental importance.

Many families in Ghana have never seen a film on the “Big Screen”, let alone one featuring so many top Black actors and actresses and shining such a marvelous light on the original and future strength, power and divine majesty of melanated people. For some, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, awakening their consciousness and forever redefining how they characterize themselves, their nation and above all their global existence. At approximately 50 GHS ($12 USD) per attendee, we expect to reach more than 1,100 Ghanaians.
