Well, it's been a firestorm. But we got through it. First of all, I want to thank the good people at GoFundMe for helping me sort out the confusion that's obviously left a big black eye on what started out as sure winner, I've never met Chris. But being a comedian myself of over 35 years, and helping numerous comedians in trouble, as well as not so much in trouble, I was really thrown for a loop when the negativity started pouring in. I even received some threats. So let me be clear. I wrote this campaign with the sole purpose of helping another comedian; one I never even met. Another comedian who was facing eviction, because I've been there myself. My story is long, but I'm not the focus here. Chris is. Through a twisted journey of miscommunication and well intended acts of gratitude from Chris, I found myself -- the author of this campaign -- at the center of an absolute crap storm. With the involvement of the wonderful staff at GoFunMe, we were able to resolve the issue and the confusion. An issue which was between Chris and I. Suffice to say Chris is getting every penny earned through this campaign and I am receiving nothing. That's the way I set it up and that's the way this campaign will end. However, I hope to work with Chris again in the future. As a matter of fact, plans are in the works for a big live show, at which Chris will be featured. I hope that all works out. My personal challenge is to not stop helping other comedians. I believe each and every person who cares for Chris -- even the ones who criticized and attacked me - has a right to question things as they appear. Skepticism is good; but cynicism destroys us all. I am very pleased that things worked out in the end and I really do want to thank everyone for supporting Chris in this campaign and I hope one day to meet the man himself. And, Chris? It's been an honor to serve you, sir.

What can I say? As Chris's unofficial spokesman, he wanted me to express to you all how knocked out with joy and gratitude for all you've done. He admits he was a bit skeptical at first; about using crowd-funding, but you showed him.
Chris has begun the process of what to do next; whether to pay his back rent if he still legally can or move to a new location; I haven't spoken with him about this yet. That's his call, his decision, of course.
He does want to say that: "I have 4 years and 3 months sober and this bit of breathing room will make it easier to stay the path". I think that sums it up.
I'll say please still share because whatever his decision is, wherever he lives, it will be good to have a little reserve in case of another financial emergency.
Lastly, I wanted to say I was honored to get this campaign written and out there and am so so impressed with all the love and support displayed and expressed to our man Chris Fonseca.
Thank you. Chris thanks you and, as they say, watch this space....

What a terrible presumption/assumption to make about somebody with zero facts or proof. I've known Steven for nearly 8 years and he gives the last shirt off his back to people. I didn't see anyone else stepping up to start or manage this campaign - which takes HOURS and TIME and effort to set up, in addition to spreading the word and asking his sizable network to share it. I love how people are worried about him possibly receiving a portion of something that would have been NOTHING had he not stepped up to the plate. All of which wasn't even true. What terrible people.
Answered prayer! For everyone who really knows me, you know that I believe with all my heart that out of every bad thing that happens, something good comes from it and it looks like something wonderful may be in store for these two! I may not always handle things the best way but my heart is always in the right place. Best of luck to you both and for anyone who hasn't already donated or who hasn't shared this, please please do so as help is still needed!!
Don't worry. It's all legitimate. Steven is a trustworthy guy who will make sure all the money goes to Chris. Thanks Steven Allen green for caring!
I know him pretty well and he is an amazing man. He has always worked so very hard, but at the same time, has struggled to make a steady income. I know firsthand how hard he tries, but is just always having to rob peter to pay paul for so very long. He is always one gig away from homelessness. He truly could use a break and some help from everyone who can. Please consider any amount - every little bit helps. I will be giving him some money in person.
