Beapombo est mon village natal. Situé à environ 750 km de la capitale (2 jours de trajets), sans électricité ni eau potable, les habitants de cette commune sont privés d'eau potable depuis 2016.

Lors de mon retour à Madagascar en 2016, j’ai réalisé un photoreportage sur les Femmes de l’Ihorombe et leur relation avec l’eau depuis le vol des pompes hydrauliques. Depuis ce sombre mois d'août, les habitants n’ont d’autres choix que de s’approvisionner en eau dans un puits à ciel ouvert, à proximité de bovins, où l'eau est non potable, ce qui a augmenté les risques de maladies d’origines hydriques telles que : le paludisme, diarrhée, bilharziose…
 
Je me sens profondément touchée par cet événement car plus jamais je ne pourrais passer les vacances à Beapombo de la même façon. Je ne pourrais plus faire semblant d' ignorer les problèmes des habitants de cette commune, dont je connais la majorité. Et parce que j’ai la chance d’avoir une voix qui porte plus que la leur, j’ai le pouvoir d’impacter les personnes comme vous qui peuvent agir pour leur cause.
 
Alors, l’un des combats que je porte aujourd'hui est celui de ramener l’eau potable au village et je ne pourrais faire cela sans votre aide ni votre grand soutien. L’objectif est d’acheter une pompe hydraulique d’une valeur d’environ 800 euros.

Quant à l’installation de la pompe, cela est largement faisable car j'ai dans mes proches des personnes qui travaillent dans des entreprises de forages à Madagascar.

Mon objectif premier est de collecter les financements pour la réalisation du projet dans le but d'améliorer le bien être des habitants de Beapombo. Car quoi de plus luxueux que l’eau potable pour les habitants d’un des pays les plus pauvres du monde et où Madagascar est classé parmi les 5 pays où l’accès à l’eau potable est le plus difficile.

Je ne peux évidemment pas démontrer ici toute la volonté que j’ai à vouloir réaliser ce petit projet de grande ampleur pour les habitants de Beapombo.

 
Ma démarche est sincère, je tiens à le préciser et chaque centime versé pour ce projet a un but à long terme qui changera véritablement la vie des habitants  toute une commune.

Beapombo, my native village, is located about 750 km from the capital (2 days of travel). The inhabitants of this town have been without clean drinking water since the theft of their hydraulic pump in 2016.

When I came back to Madagascar in 2016, I did a photoreportage called, “Femmes de l’Horombe” (Women of Horombe), about the women in this village and their relationship with water. Since the theft, residents have no choice but to stock up on water from an open-air pit, near cattle, where the water is not drinkable. This has increased the risks of waterborne diseases, such as: malaria, diarrhea, bilharzia.

I feel deeply touched by this event, and never again can I bare to spend the holidays in Beapombo, to witness their continued struggles. I can not pretend to ignore the problems of the inhabitants of this town, of which I know the majority. Thankfully, I am lucky enough to have a voice that carries more than theirs, and the possibility to communicate to people like you, who can act for their cause.

So, one of the fights I am engaging today is bringing clean water back to the village, and I cannot do this without your help and support.

The goal is to buy a hydraulic pump worth about 800 euros. As for the installation of the pump, this is largely feasible because my relatives work in drilling companies in Madagascar.

My main objective is to collect the funds for the realization of the project, for the purpose of the welfare of the inhabitants of Beapombo. There is nothing more luxurious than drinking clean water for the inhabitants of one of the poorest countries in the world. Madagascar is ranked amongst the 5 countries where access to clean water is the most difficult.

I cannot demonstrate here all my will to realize this small project, of great magnitude, for the inhabitants of Beapombo.

My approach is sincere, I want to clarify that every penny paid for this project has a long-term goal that will truly change the lives of the inhabitants a whole municipality.
