Cuddle Cots for Missouri

Hello Everyone.

My name is Wanda.  On November 12, 2015 I went to my scheduled ultrasound appoitment.  I was 24 weeks and 3 days pregnant.  The doctor's words still echo in my ears, "Im sorry guys, there is no heartbeat."  The world crumpled around me, the events that followed is what have led me to start this fund.

I was taken to the hospital where I was induced and gave birth to my son.  I was so selfish, I had to hold him, I had to keep him for as long as possible.  Sadly I only kept him for about 8 hours before the signs of decomposition starting showing.  Each minute I kept him I was destroying his little body.  I said my goodbye and let the nurse take him.  They kept him in the nursery until the funeral home director came and got him so that nothing would happen to him.  That wasn't until the next day.  Upon making the arrangements for his funeral I was informed that it would have to be closed casket because of the condition he was in.  I was beyond devasted.  There is not a word or phrase that could describe that feeling.  I would never get to see him again and I so desperately wanted one last time.  

I believe that if there was a Cuddle Cot available that I would have had just a little longer to hold him and that his funeral wouldn't have been closed.  I would have gotten to see my little angel just one last time before his little body was laid to rest.  I would love to prevent this from happening to other parents, I would love to help give them the gift of just a little more time.

Currently there are no Cuddle Cots in the state of Missouri unless they are privately owned.  I would like to place one at the hospital where my son was born and another at the hospital where a friend of mine went into labor early and gave birth to her son only to have him pass away just minutes later.  

The cots are not cheap however, I'm figuring for the two I will need $7000.  That is for the cot, the quipment and the moses basket.  I would like to get the warranty purchased for both but that would run about another $1500 so that is still up in the air.  

I will aslo start doing some fundrasing for the cots as well.  Once that is underway I will adjust the goal as it progresses.  

I know that not everyone can donate but everyone can help share, that takes nothing but the click of a button.  If everyone who sees this share it, then the word will spread.

This will mean more to some people than most of you will ever know.  For those of you who have been through what I have, or something similiar, you know the pain of not having enough time.  This is something that we can help those who are dealing with something that no one should ever have to.  Time is worth more than all the money in the world.  Time is all we are asking for.
