Brian Carolus - Bernie Delegate
Hello everyone!
My name is Brian Carolus, and on May 1st, 2016, I was elected by voters of California's Congressional District 33 to represent us the people as a California Delegate for Bernie Sanders at the Democratic National Convention in July in Philadelphia! 
About Me:
I was born here in the South Bay, and I grew up here, spending my entire childhood and teenage years here. I have lived in the South Bay and the 33rd district area for nearly 30 years.
I have donated hundreds of dollars of my own money to Bernie's 2016 campaign, dollars that over the past year I have not always been able to afford, because I know that in my heart it is the right thing to do. I co-founded one of the largest student grassroots-activism organizations for Bernie in the country, UCLA Bruins for Bernie, and since July 2015 we have mobilized over 1,100 dedicated UCLA students and South Bay community members by tabling, canvassing in the LA area and in other states like NV and AZ, flyering, chalking, voter registration, weekly phonebanking, and now "dormstorming" to get students registered to vote and excited to vote Bernie Sanders. I myself have also canvassed in both NV and AZ with UCLA and with Bernie Sanders Brigade, organized barnstorms at UCLA, and monitored the NV Caucuses to ensure that there would be a fair election for Bernie there. I have done everything humanly possible over this past year to see Bernie Sanders become our president, and now I am taking my fight, our fight, that we have waged together all the way to the Democratic National Convention! 
Many people ask me why I am a supporter of Bernie Sanders, and why I care so much about this fight. I have been a registered Democrat for 9 years since the age of 18 when I could first apply to vote. I grew up in an extremely progressive household, which partially inspired my interest in politics in the first place. I first learned about Bernie in January 2015 long before many others even knew who he was, months before he declared, and I realized that virtually every position he had completely agreed with my views, and it stunned me. No candidate has ever been so close to my views, and in my opinion more ethical than anyone, in my lifetime. I can comfortably say that his views mirror mine on virtually every issue- it that and his incredible compassion, integrity and honesty, courage and heart that make me such a strong and fiery supporter of Bernie's.
