The Brand Promise of our buying groups is "Stronger Together".

But, what does that mean?

It means we work together as one to get better traction in the industry. It means when one dealer needs a piece of equipment ASAP, another dealer is willing to sell it to them. It means we come together annually at Conferences to build upon our friendships and relationships – We share tips, advice, and an occasional (maybe more) beer together. It means “together we can face any challenge as deep as the ocean and as high as the sky”.

With the recent devastation from Hurricane Harvey, we have learned of many employees of our members who have been critically affected. Some have lost their homes, cars and keepsakes...evacuated by boat and now "living" in shelters with their families.

Today we humbly, yet proudly, ask of you - please take a moment to donate to the affected employees of our members via this campaign. Every donation impacts the life of one of our own, no matter if it’s $5 or $500. 100% of the proceeds will be dispersed in 2 weeks’ time to those most affected.

To kick off the campaign - Excell and NISSCO have pledged $1000. Randy and Michelle Brunschwig have personally pledged $500. William and Shellie McBride have personally pledged $1000 in matching funds for the first $1000 donated by our members. Shane and Nicole Cloud have personally pledged $1000.

Help us reach $20,000 in 2 weeks!

Do you have an employee that was critically affected that would greatly benefit from a share of the collected funds? Please don’t hesitate to nominate them here.

Do you know a shelter in the affected area that could benefit from a large donation of blankets from our non-profit, Cooking Up Better Lives? Submit their information here.

We will periodically add the stories and updates from members in or near the flood zone.

Alone we are strong, but together we are stronger.

Sincerely,

The Excell and NISSCO Management Team,
Cooking Up Better Lives

Update from Shane Cloud at Hangman Corporation:

Brad’s family was able to get back into their home about a week ago to assess the damage. They are currently living in a temporary rental while they try an repair their home.

Drywall had to be removed up to 4-5 feet, flooring, cabinets, appliances, fixtures…all had to be removed and thrown out.

Brad’s family is doing all of this work themselves, while trying to work, go to school and maintain some resemblance of normalcy.

We can only imagine the financial burden of having to now pay rent and expenses for a temporary home, while continuing to be responsible for the mortgage and expenses on the existing damaged home, AND paying for all of these repairs out of pocket.

All of this while trying to raise four boys….I’m sure overwhelming is not a strong enough description.

The Carr’s are receiving some assistance from FEMA for living expenses and repairs, but it is minimal, and doesn’t make much of a dent in the actual cost of this.

Story submitted by Shane Cloud from Hangman Corp.

These images are from our Operations Manager, Brad Carr. The images are from within the evacuation shelter at a local high school, his street, his neighbor’s house and his own home.

These were taken after the reservoir was closed, and the water had gone DOWN! Later yesterday they opened those gates again, and the water went back up.

Brad’s family has basically lost everything but what they could take to the shelter…

What makes this particular story even more painful is they just closed on that home 28 days before this flood. We relocated Brad from PA for this job, his family has only been in Texas since June.

Federal law will not let flood insurance kick in for 30 days after closing, so they were TWO days short of being covered by their insurance.

Heartbreaking is the only word I can use to describe it. Brad, his wife Heather, and their four boys… moved to Texas, excited for the new opportunity, and this happens.
