New Dock @ Byram Bay Community Club

The Byram Bay Community Club (BBCC), located in the Byram Bay Cove on scenic Lake Hopatcong, NJ, was established in 1938. The BBCC is a non-profit, memeber owned and operated community club. It serves as a central gathering point for local families to come together to enjoy the lake, and time with each other. The focal point of the BBCC has always been the dock that extended 50 feet out into the lake. At the end of the dock were 2 diving boards and a flag pole.
From that dock, many a child caught their first fish or learned to swim. Many a toddler took their first leap off that dock into their parents arms (just to be dunked into the water anyway). Every year for decades there were diving contests and swim races, fierce competitions that every child (and cheering parent) took very seriously. Every 4th of July fireworks were lit from the end of the dock to celebrate our great country's independence. Sadly, in 2014, none of these things occured at the BBCC.
In the spring of 2014 the state decided to raise the level of the lake before the ice that covered it had fully melted. This ill-advised decision to raise the water caused the ice to destroy the supports, and some of the concrete- making the dock unsafe, hence unusable. The dock cannot be safely repaired, but CAN be replaced!
Quotes have been submitted and the most economical way to replace the dock is to use composite decking instead of concrete. The cost to replace the dock is $32,000.
