Bringing G Home - Part of our Story:
Our gofundme is to benefit the Hites family (most of all my son Gianni - "G".) I have been ill on and off since I was 16 and ended up having to relocate to Illinois from St. Charles, MO so I would have the healthcare and transportation I need. Our location is listed as St. Charles because that is where Gianni and as soon as we find a house I will be staying there 2 weeks a month. Unfortunately, due to my medical and financial situation, I have not been able to work since 2013. Around a year ago I made the decision to apply for disability and I am waiting for my hearing after passing the first phase.
Unfortunately, due to uncertainty with the government and funding/legislature that part is sort of "up in the air". I am looking at the possibility of just moving back to Missouri and starting over with the process there. My lawyer was appointed a social security judgeship so I have had to change lawyers anyway.I had to grant temporary guardianship to family and then friends (I have full custody) so G could stay in a better school district and environment. Though I am doing somewhat better, I live in a bad area (near East St. Louis, MO if you look it up) and the schools and environment here are less than ideal.
Due to my son's safety, I am not posting this on my personal Facebook, since it is private also because of issues of security with some relatives. I do know there is a risk it will be seen, however. (I'm confident in his safety and security - it just makes me nervous! :)
G needs as much stability as we can give him, and he is in a great school and with good people, and as soon as we can manage it he will be back with my mom and I (as much as I can be there). The main issue is that we have already had him there longer than we had expected and he is very ready to come home, and we cannot wait!! I will forever be grateful to the family taking care of him, but need to get him moved and settled so we can work on getting him the services he needs (most of which are not available where he is now), and back with us where he belongs. We miss him!!!
My mom is a veteran who lost her house a few years ago due to the economy. She works full-time and we are looking for an affordable place in her price range, that will be able to fit us all at least somewhat comfortably. There have been some obstacles and it is taking much longer than we anticipated - which is part of the reason behind our campaign!
One of our goals is to raise enough to help pay expenses right now, moving expenses, deposits, storage and transportation fees, etc.
We also will need a lot for the household, including furniture, clothes, etc for Gianni. Funds will also go towards before/after school care when I am not there, additional medical expenses, transportation, etc.
We will try to publish a more specific updated list, especially as I attempt to get the word out more (I am new to this social media/promotional thing).
If you want to donate something specific I will post a wishlist here or if you wish to donate by a different means or are unable to donate through the site please contact me!! There are some other options and I can provide you with whatever documentation you need.
