Help Bobby B get to Dem Convention

Five years ago, I had no home, no car, no college degree, no job, no money, and very little food and few clothing. I remember how incredibly painful it was to cry myself to sleep as I was hungry and fearful that I wouldn't survive to see tomorrow.
But somehow I had succeeded in doing the impossible. It has been so incredibly hard to create something for myself when I had absolutely nothing to begin with.
Not a single one of my accomplishments are for my sole benefit. I do so much for my community for absolutely nothing in return and that's ok because I never want anyone to suffer like I had to as a child. I want to make the world a better place. I am willing to sacrifice what small amount of money I have, most of my free time and my personal wellbeing for the advancement of others. I will never forget about my roots and where I came from nor will I ever retire from my struggle until every single last person has food, basic clothes, shelter, and access to education and employment.
That is why I got into politics. Whether you support him or not, Bernie Sanders gave me hope. He was the first Presidential candidate I have ever organized for and donated to. I started my own grassroots organization "Central CT for Bernie" and I've built an organization with 150 volunteers, 3 deputies, and 1 intern. Our organization organized 20+ phone banks, canvasses, debate watch parties, honk and waves, voter registration drives and tabling events. Because of the hard work of the volunteers of Central CT for Bernie, we won 4/5 towns and came within 300 votes of winning the fifth town that we focused on.
On the side, I also worked with assisting student leaders at CCSU, Quinnipiac and Yale in helping guide them in forming their own organization. I made so many amazing friends at each of those three universities in particular and I am so incredibly proud of all of the student volunteers statewide.
I am also proud to be a member of "Bernie Sanders CT" and served on the coordinator committee. Together, we helped registered 45,000 new Democratic voters and recruited over 3,000 volunteers and ID tens of thousands of supporters. I can undoubtedly say that "Bernie Sanders CT" will go down as one of the most successful grassroots organizations in Connecticut history.
Because of all of my hard work, I was encouraged to run as a delegate for Bernie Sanders. I was picked to be on the Bernie Sanders grassroots slate and our slate of candidates won! Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of attending a national political convention. And my dream came true!
However, little did I realize how much money I would have to pay out of pocket to attend. In order to attend the Democratic National Convention, I need to raise $2500 ($1500 for hotel, $500 for transportation, $500 for food and other necessities). I would need to raise this money by July 15, 2016. I hate asking for money for myself as I don't really matter that much. But I was convenced by my friends that I should.
Most of the delegates are party leaders, Governors, Senators, Congressmen, and other party officials. It is rare that someone like myself has this once in a lifetime opportunity. And if I get this opportunity, I won't let it go to waste. I will be a strong advoacte for much needed change and reforms in our national politics. I will fight for a more just, transparant, and fair political process. I will use all of the knowlege that I gain durning the convention and apply it in my quest to making our state a better place. And I will network at the convention and use my contacts to help people who really need it.
