Orphaned Teens in Africa
Donation protected
We've been supporting Goshen Ministries for several years and it's finally time for me to travel to Africa to meet everyone there!
Goshen takes children off the streets of Africa and puts them in homes with house parents and siblings. Started by our friend Bigimba Ngabo as a promise to assist homeless refugee children, Goshen has grown and we now care for more than 60 children.
I will fly to Kampala Uganda on May 3 and return on May 15. The focus of my trip will be working with 15 teenagers who need to start planning for their futures. Thankfully, God blessed me with over 20 years of experience doing just that!
With the Goshen teenagers I'll be focusing on topics like:
-First Impressions & Greetings
-Self-Awareness
-Skills, Interests, Knowledge, Experience, Values
-Time Management
-Research
-Stress Management
-Verbal Communication & Negotiation
-Written Communication
-Problem Solving
-Leadership Skills & Delegation
-Ugandan Economy & Employment Market
-Employment
-Entrepreneurship
Additionally, while there, my colleagues and I are hosting a day long Youth Event for those aged 16-25 where we anticipate connecting with 100-200 youth in Kampala, Uganda's capital. We will cover topics like
-Relationships
-Employment
-Politics
-Integrity
-Faith
-Education
-Health
-Money
With an average annual income of just over $3,000 and youth unemployment at between 50-80%, we really believe we cna make a difference in the lives of young people.
