North End Pool- Community landmark

NorthEnd Swim Club was founded in 1960 and quickly became a popular swim spot in the Pottstown Area. Families would spend entire summers creating friendships and fond memories year after year.
The beautiful grounds, recreational activities;(Swim teams, Water show productions, Teen nights, Pre-teen nights) made it a popular Pottstown landmark.
Only a few decades ago the pool was busting at its seems with 450+ families and a long waiting list of families hoping to join. Through the hard work of its first members the pool and grounds were proudly maintained year after year. Some may remember fondly the names: Al Baudot and Fernley Murray, who worked tirelessly for decades beautifully caring for our beloved Swim Club.
But as the saying goes: “all good things must come to an end…. ". Hard economic times have taken its toll on the Pottstown area, membership has dropped significantly and is currently at only 239 families, and the pool underwent a very costly facelift. Every season it becomes increasingly more difficult to operate and maintain this beautiful recreational facility.
In addition to fundraising events we have tried over the years, this “Go fund me page” is being set up to hopefully reach members of the community, area businesses, and past members of North End Swim Club who too have fond memories growing up at North End. It is our hope through setting up this page and we can preserve this Pottstown Landmark for generations to come!
