My name is Shea Martin and I started making "Patrol Car Treasure Boxes" to help teach my three daughters to show love through service to others. As a law enforcement family, it is important for us that other kids have the opportunity to see police officers in the same light as we do. As kind, loving, selfless men and women who are serving the communities they love. When most kids come into contact with police officers the situation is rarely ideal or happy. Often times situations call for police officers to be stern and assertive but they all have a soft side and we want kids to see that. We want to help give police officers a mean to connect with kids on calls that they are dispatched to, in hopes of easing the burden or anxiety those kids may be feeling. We want to "Bridge the Gap" between the police and the community. To help kids trust the police again, to feel comfortable calling or approaching a police officer when in need of help. Or to even say hi if they see a police officer in their neighborhood.
