Vega Needs a New Generator
Donation protected
Vega has been sailing the waters of Southeast Asia for the past decade, delivering donated school and medical supplies to remote communities in eastern Indonesia and East Timor.
This year has started off with a big set-back: after 15,000 hours of holding it together with chewing gum and bailing wire, the generator has finally died. This presents a very difficult problem for Vega and the many small communities which she helps every year. Without a working generator, the freezers we use to carry medical supplies, such as vaccines for children, cannot function as well as they need to.
We have contacted Westerbeke in the US, and they have given us a tremendous opportunity: they will sell us a new generator, and ship it to Singapore, at the production cost of $5,000 USD.
We need you to help us raise these funds. Please make a donation towards buying a new generator, and thus ensuring the safe delivery of important medical supplies to communities that need them.
