For everyone that knows Leyanda, they know that she is the kindest and strongest woman with a huge heart. She has 3 beautiful children and is an avid member of the Quinnipiac University community, where she is loved by everyone. The students at QU look forward to seeing her every day!
For those of you that don't know, in 2014 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, a battle she knew she had to fight. After strenuous rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, she became cancer free in 2016! Unfortunately, her battle was not over. Leyanda went in for a check-up a few weeks ago when they told her that her cancer has spread to her lymph nodes. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, which as many of you know, is the most aggressive. BUT, Leyanda is ready to fight again!
With the rising cost of health insurance, treatment is going to be very expensive, which is why I am asking us to come together to help support Leyanda's journey to become a survivor again!
