Keeping Women Safe

My heart is filled with great sadness to write this post . My best friend and mentor Beth Bunch got the dreaded phone call yesterday saying her little sister Mitzie Galimidi had passed away. Words can not express the grief and sorrow that comes with loosing a loved one that fought against the battle of addiction. Beth is the first woman I connected with when I moved to Sulphur a few years ago. She helped me to put down the bottle and not pick it back up for almost 2 years now. Then Beth met my sister , who is also named Mitzi. Because my sister struggled with addiction and needed a safe place to recover Beth opened up a Women's Ministry House called Almost Home. Just in 1 year Beth has 2 women's houses, 10 women , and an out of this world discipleship program that reaches the battered , homeless , and hurting women of our community. She has literally went to the streets and snatched these ladies out of harms way. I have watched in awe and taken note on how to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Today when I went to go comfort her , she asked if I would go check on her girls at the ministry houses. I would like for Beth and her kind hearted husband Marlin to be able to take the time to grieve and not have to carry the burden of money this month. All money donated will go toward the needs of the ladies that they take care of. I am proud to be in a community of some of the most kind, compassionate, good hearted folks I've ever met .
