Jennifer Quinnell-Newhouse  December 5th 1970 to September 24 2018

Jenny loved Ecuador and mostly the people of Ecuador. We moved here not knowing what the adventure would be, or how the path would twist and turn along the way. We simply trust that God would open doors and close them along the way. We have seen many examples of HIS lead since January of 2016 when we said. Yes Lord your servants are ready. Where shall we go? Crucita, Ecuador.  South American was not on our radar. We always thought Mexico, or Central America but not Ecuador. Upon arrival we met many people and worked hard to adjust to the life of this small fishing community.

Many have asked me when I will be moving back to the US. My response: Probably never.  Jenny and I love Ecuador and had just seen another open door in May of 2017 when we finally were able to meet Cristian and Lissette. An Ecuadorian couple from Porto Viejo that had been ministering to the children and families of Crucita before the great Earthquake in April of 2016 then felt compelled to move to Crucita permanently. Sorry for the little diversion, however it leads up to this.  Jenny (and I) simply "know in our knower" that this was the reason we were brought to Crucita. We had many discussions of where we may see the direction of this new relationship going and were committed to following this thru along with our new friends in Jesus.
We already had started the ground work for a U.S. non profit organization. Verdad Y Vida is already established in Ecuador.

Jenny lived life to the fullest, always loving the Lord with faith not only to live by but also to die by.   She touched many lives along her journey and hoped that they too would find that same saving grace. As a memorial to Jenny please consider contributing to    https://www.gofundme.com/5fiuteo to further the work with Verdad Y Vida.

Today (Sunday) was the first day for a group of kids from near by Las Gilces to join Verdad y Vida. For those of you that helped make the Van happen. This is some fruit of that effort. Thank You again.

The past month has been very surreal. It was on September 24th at 1:14 am that Jenny exhaled for the last time and went home to spend her eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
First and foremost, I want to say a very sincere THANK YOU TO ALL for the many messages, calls, links to videos and condolences. Jenny and I over the past nineteen years we have gone through various challenges and trials and tribulations. This one is without a doubt the greatest for us yet. But thru it all we found great solace and comfort in our faith of what Jesus did for us on the cross at Calvary.
Over the past month I have thought much about many things. The biggie is what is my new normal. Several years ago, our friend Peg Muenzel authored a book “Walking Through – Hope for the grieving heart.” The book is the result of her losing her son at the age of 15. I read it when she was first published. I reread it again on the flight back home. It was much different this time. I would recommend it for anyone needing to find a new normal or knowing someone who is going through such. It does solidify that there is hope at the end of all of this.
Jenny would want all to join her for eternity in heaven but knows that is not the path that many will choose. When you really put some thought to it all there really is only be one TRUTH. If one takes all of the religion, philosophy and lies of satan out of the mix and search deep for that one solid everlasting truth you will find as Jenny (and I) that it lies in the free gift given all who choose for an eternity with the one true God who sent His only son Jesus to Live, Die and RISE again for all those who will put their faith in Him who paid it all so that we may live. I understand that there will be some reading this now that will say they do not believe such things. I won’t argue with those who have that thought. I will simply ask that you rethink your decision starting now today. As we all see this life here is fleeting and we all have our own final destination and eternity to face. I hope that in the few lines above I was able to convey the last message that Jenny would want to have shared with all of you.

This message has been rather somber. Many have asked that I continue to keep up the blogging. I hope to enlighten you again at some point with my crazy twisted humor. Which only goes to show that many of you are also a bit crazy and twisted! But for now, the humor may need to wait a bit. I just don’t feel very funny now.
I am undecided as to the where I will post my ramblings and words of wisdom going forward. So, for now I will add this to the Caring Bridge, Facebook, e-mail and GoFundMe. I May not be posting to Jenny’s facebook page so if you see this and would like to follow along please just search me out on facebook. You can also send me your email address if that is your preferred source of being watched by big brother with the all-seeing eye! There a bit of twisted humor to finish this off for now… or is it?
Thank You all again for your Care, concern, thoughts and prayers over the past months and they will be greatly appreciated in the months to come as well.

ok. As promised last night a few pics.
So now for those of you not familiar with vehicles in Ecuador. They are very expensive due to restrictions on importing and such.
This is a Ford Windstar 1995 with only 152700 kilometers. Thats about 95000 miles on a 23 year old vehicle. I explained a bit yestetday about the how I found the vehicle.
Raul has taken good care of the vehicle. He has owned it since 2009 and showed me his log for oil changes and such. He has replaced several key items. A transmission, water pump, alternator, radiator idler pulley and tires. all original Ford parts. He told me of a few other things to be replaced and will cover the labor I just need to pay for the parts.
I was saying I was waiting for a vehicle to show up at my door step. Well this is close enough for me. I wanted something with a little more carrying capacity which this has. We will at times transport others that need to go to Solca for appointments as well as kids from Verdad y Vida for youth group events.
It is an eight passenger van but as I joked with Cristian we can probably load about 30 Ecuadorian kids inside and on top. (you may have recently seen the Facebook post I shared to show an example)
We needed a little gas so today I took Jenny for a maiden voyage. We feel this vehicle will fit our needs for along time to come. For the immediate need it will serve the purpose most needed right now as well.
Thank You again for all the help you given to make this a reality.

Thank You for the support. Those of you on Facebook may have seen a few of the vehicle we had to choose from. I would sum it by saying "Buying a car in Ecuador can be a topsy turvy funny thing" After many weeks of searching the net in the few minutes of spare time I have. We have a vehicle!
My friend Cristian from Verdad y Vida was helping me in the search. We looked at a few of what we thought had some real potential. One we found had some rather interesting engine modifications, another upon inspection was obviously involved in a few accidents. We were at Cristians parents house to search a few more out on the web when Raul his father said. "¿Por qué no te vendo el mío?" or, why don't I sell you mine. Great idea !
Like Forrest Gump said.
"I am tired, I think I'll stop now".
I will post more details and a few pictures tomorrow as I keep falling asleep now.
Buenas noches.
