Hi everyone! My name is Sinead Samuel and I've decided to begin a fundraiser to bring awareness and raise money for research and new treaments for those living with Diabetes, specifically those in financial need.
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (Juvenile Diabetes) when I was 11 years old. This disease can be difficult to manage and to keep up with normal daily life routines. The juggling of maintaining healthy eating habits, checking your blood sugar and taking insulin are essential for proper care. Not to mention that without proper care, kids/teens/young adults with Type 1 diabetes are at major risk for vision loss, leg/foot amputation, preganancy complications and being in a Diabetic coma.
What I thought would be the hardest thing I would have to deal with in life became the biggest opportunity.I've learned and met with a lot of families that don't have the necessary funds to get their kids proper treatment or insurance to cover the hassle of medical bills. I want to make a difference and raise awareness to help these families out.
