Easton Ivy is 5 years old and was viciously attacked by a male Pit Bull on 10/31/2018. Eastons family was fostering the animal and had it only for about 5 days when the attack occurred. Easton had just gotten home from school and went outside with the dog. They played well for about 15 minutes and then the dog knocked Easton over. Easton tried to run away and the dog bit him right in the center of his face. Once Easton fell to the ground; the dog ripped off his right ear. I came to the backyard and saw the dog on top of my child.. I had to fight, kick, and pry the dogs jaws off of my child multiple times. Every time I would pick him up to try and run inside; the dog would jump up, bite him and rip him out of my arms. By the time we got inside; all I could see was blood. Easton lost both of his ears; a significant amount of skin on his face and also had muscle damage in his right leg causing a permanent foot drop. He has already had about 10 surgeries and is expected to have many more. He will have to undergo multiple skin grafts, he will have to have nerve reconstruction in his face to be able to have a full smile again, and he will more than likely have to have muscle and nerve reconstruction in his leg, and we will either reconstruct his ears or more than likely get prosthetics. He will actively have to see a psychologist and also PT and OT. Easton just started his first year of Kindergarten and was doing amazing. Even after all of this; he has stayed strong and has had such a positive attitude. Easton is currently uninsured and I'm trying to appeal Medicaid... I am a single mom to two boys and apparantly make $30 over the monthly limit. I appreciate everyone's contributions towards my baby. As you can imagine; paying for everything out of pocket so far has been quite expensive. I am trying to save as much as possible for Easton and he also has a savings account set up at Security Federal Bank. More than anything; we are asking for prayers. Please just pray that we make it through this and pray that we continue to stay strong. My baby is going to have an amazing testimony one day and I can't wait to hear it. :)
