HI All! Me and some other parents in community are hoping to raise funds for our local play parks in Montebello. We have identified that the park is in DESPERATE need of renovation and the replacement of equipment. There is not enough for the children to do and in it's current state it does not cater for all ages adequately. We want the park to become a real hub of our community and a safe place for our children to meet and play. Less and less kids are coming to the park to play, even under the gorgeous sunny Italian day. They are losing interest to come to the park, that has no one to play with. It becoming almost a ghost park, with only one equipment each park. The kids are in risk of losing their Summer 2019 in the park
Here are some of the problems :
- Most of equipments are very old (30 years) and broken or damage by aging.
- Lack of anti-shock pavement under the swings, some kids got injured easily by falling.
- Non functional Trash bins, mixed trashes and it smells bad. Attracting many insects
- Rusty benches and they are crippling.
- Lack of proper lightning during the night. I think almost none.
- Lack maintenance of the lawns, grasses & perennial plants are growing under controlled without trimming. It can hides many potential unseen danger for kids.
- LACK OF FUNDING & INTEREST FROM THE CITY COUNCIL
In the past any equipment that became unsafe or broken has been removed and not replaced. We have approached the Council who have no funds at present to help us, so we are trying to make these improvements as a community. Without the support, the park is at the end of it's life and we are in danger of losing our local park.
We are intending to apply for grant funding to contribute to the development but it will takes a long long time ; as you know how Italian's politics is working and continuously changing all the times. So it will very much need donations to help us reach our target. We are planning to raise funds in stages so have set a target of Eur 7000,- initially by Summer 2019.
As you can see we need lots of help!!!
We need your help to bring back the smile and laughing sounds both from the kids and parents.
The proposed park will have greatly improved equipment, safe, enjoyable and be accessible to all. It is a much loved place for children and parents to visit and with the enhanced facilities it will help the children to play and enjoy the outdoors.

L'infanzia merita un rispetto.
Ciao a tutti! Sono Alvina W. con alcuni altri genitori in comunità. cerchiamo di organizzare una raccolta fondi per il nostro parco giochi locale a Montebello, il paese dove abitiamo con il progetto 'Save Montebello parks'. Abbiamo visto che il parco è in DISPERATO necessità di ristrutturazione e la sostituzione delle attrezzature. Non ci sono abbastanza per i bambini da fare e nel suo stato attuale non soddisfa adeguatamente tutte le età. Vogliamo che il parco diventi un vero centro della nostra comunità e un luogo sicuro dove i nostri bambini possano incontrarsi e giocare. Sempre meno e meno bambini stanno venendo al parco per giocare, anche durante la splendida giornata soleggiata italiana. Stanno perdendo l'interesse per venire al parco, che non ha nessuno con cui giocare. Diventa quasi un parco fantasma, con una sola attrezzatura ogni parco.
Ecco alcuni dei problemi:
- La maggior parte delle attrezzature sono molto vecchie (30 anni) e rotte o danneggiate dall'invecchiamento.
- Mancanza di pavimentazione anti-shock per evitare la potenziale trauma ai bambini
- Bidoni della spazzatura non funzionali, rifiuti misti e cattivi odori. Attrazione di molti insetti
- Panchine arrugginite e paralizzanti.
- Mancanza di illuminazione adeguati durante la notte. Penso quasi niente.
-Mancanza di manutenzione dei prati, erbe e piante perenni crescono sotto controllo senza potatura. Può nascondere molti potenziali insidie per i bambini.
- MANCANZA DI FINANZIAMENTI E INTERESSI DAL CONSIGLIO DELLA CITTÀ
In passato qualsiasi attrezzatura divenuta insicura o rotta è stata rimossa e NON SOSTITUITA. Abbiamo contattato il Consiglio di Comune che al momento non ha fondi per aiutarci, quindi stiamo cercando di apportare questi miglioramenti come comunità. Senza il supporto, il parco è alla fine della sua vita e corriamo il rischio di perdere il nostro parco locale. Intendiamo chiedere finanziamenti per contribuire allo sviluppo, ma ci vorrà molto tempo; come sai come funziona la politica italiana, che cambia continuamente tutte le volte. Quindi avrà davvero bisogno di donazioni per aiutarci a raggiungere il nostro obiettivo. Stiamo pianificando di raccogliere fondi per fasi, quindi abbiamo fissato un obiettivo di 7000 euro, inizialmente entro l'estate 2019.
Come potete vedere, abbiamo bisogno di molto aiuto !!! Abbiamo bisogno del vostro aiuto per riportare il sorriso e le risate sia dal bambini e genitori come un tempo fa.
Ciò in cui noi speriamo, con questo progetto, è di riuscire ad allestire gradualmente il parco, mano a mano che avremo le risorse disponibili. Per fare questo abbiamo bisogno del tuo aiuto!!!!
Questo progetto darà loro l'opportunità di avere un posto dove riunirsi, esprimersi e godersi la propria infanzia, cosi’ come ogni bambino dovrebbe avere.
E’ attraverso il gioco che i bambini imparano del mondo che gli sta attorno, sviluppano il loro pensiero e sfruttano la loro immaginazione, cosi’ come le loro capacita’ comunicative, di interazione sociale e motorie.
Vi chiedo di aiutarmi a raggiungere l’obiettivo da me prefissato donando cio’ che potete. Ogni donazione, grande o piccola, fara’ la differenza per i bambini della comunita’.
