2nd Time Blessed - Woods Adoption

Ever since our son started talking, he has been asking for a baby brother or sister. Each time, we immediately pray together asking God to bring our family a new baby to love. It is our deepest desire to grow our family through the miracle of adoption once again.

Alex and I were married in 2003 and after a few years of laughing, loving, growing, and finishing college we wanted to start our family. It has always been a dream of ours to be parents. Our infertility journey was long, difficult, emotional, and at times even painful, and after several years we found out that pregnancy was not to be our journey. However, we hadn’t given up hope of growing our family.
We are so thankful that God led us to adopt. He knows our hearts and the love we have for children. We were so blessed to adopt our son from Northern California in early 2013 and be present for his birth. Loving and parenting Cody has been such a joyful time in our lives. He is kind, fun, loving, and playful! He has always had a fondness for babies and we have dreamed for him to have a sibling to share his life with. We are always delighted to hear from the church nursery teachers how helpful he is with the other children and babies. We are so proud of how kind, smart, and caring he is and know that he will be an amazing big brother.
Our desire to grow our family has led us to begin the adoption process again. We have completed the home study process and have been approved for another domestic infant adoption. Our profile is currently live and we are in the waiting process to be matched with our future child. We know in our hearts that God has all of details planned and will bring us together with our child in His time.
Since the birth of Cody, we felt it was important for me to stay home and devote my time to raising our son and I cannot wait to give the same love and attention to our future child. However, no longer having the income from my teaching position does affect the financial aspect of this adoption, as we are still finishing paying expenses from Cody’s adoption finalization. Even though, after prayerful consideration, we felt that the timing was right so that Cody can know the joys of growing up with a sibling.
Our family and friends have asked us how they can help financially and suggested starting this page. We are positive that God will provide as we continue on our second adoption journey, and are thankful for the support we receive from friends and family. More than anything, we ask for prayer for our future child, his or her birth mother, and our family as we wait with open hearts.
