Sam Merrill Baseball FieldMemorial

Most people in the Great Lakes Bay Region knew Sam Merrill as the trusted voice for news both national, state and local.  But he was so much more; a passionate advocate for community.  For the region's kids, his friends and neighbors.  But there was no greater passion for Sam than his wife Katy and son James who played his first year of baseball at North Saginaw Township Little League.  Oh would Sam have loved that.  But the lord decided Sam would broadcast from Heaven and left this earth too soon.  Now for all Sam gave to this Region his friends would like to give him something back; immortalizing him by naming that baseball field and a new concession stand after him.  Something his son and our sons,and daughters for generations to come will forever remember as one of our finest ambassadors;  our friend Sam Merrill.  A no more fitting and deserved  legacy; The Sam Merrill Field & Concession Stand.
