Once A Marine, Always A Marine
(Author Unknown)

I was that which others did not want to be.

I went where others failed to go.

And did what others failed to do.

I asked nothing from those who gave nothing

And reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness, should I fail.

I have seen the Face of Terror,

Felt the stinging Cold of Fear,

And enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love.

I have cried, pained and hoped ... but most of all,

I have lived times others would say were best forgotten.

At least today I am able to say that I was proud of what I was.....

Please contact VGLI to see if he had insurance thru them when he left the military. Also he is entitled to basic life insurance and ALSO basic AD&D thru UPS. He may have also paid for supplemental of both but the company pays for basic on both. From what I pulled up online on the benefits they calculate it at 1040 X his hourly rate of pay for each policy and he would have at least 2 basic policies and possibly supplemental that he may have been paying into. The basic policies are given to every employee whether they are part time or full time and are free of charge and is based on his salary. He has insurance. Don't let Prudential cheat you out of it. Go directly thru UPS and call them to find out how to obtain it. His next of kin would be the beneficiary and should be his mom unless he named someone else.
