Making Bundle of Joy (Baby Faseke))
They say it takes a village to raise a child, but with the high costs of fertility treatments, it might take a huge number of people to contribute to afford one!
Reasearch has shown that average costs of treatment can range from £5,000-20,000 depending on the depth of your support.
Unanticipated expenses such as consultations, medication fo my husband and myself and income lost from time away from work for appointments can add to financial stress.
A new baby is a joyful event for our family and friends.
We hope by starting a gofundme page the whole internet village can share , offer advice, words of support and donations to help prepare for baby’s arrival.
On the 22/07/2013 just few days before my 30th birthday our child Lucas Babafemi Faseke , was sadly still born at 20 weeks .
During the pregnancy and after that my health has been poor ill mainly as a result to various medical complications that includes infections .
A ruptured cervical membrane a condition known as Chorioamnionitis ( Intra Amniotic Infection ) .
Sadly, with Chorioamnionitis the only major treatment is high dosage of broad -spectrum antibiotics .
An admission to hospital to closely monitor the health of both mother and baby and in worst case early delivery and death .
In my case the more antiboitics I had the greater the infection, which triggered a uterine contraction and preterm premature rapture of membranes ( pPROM) .
It was highly evident that our Lucas would have had mild to severe physical or intellectual disabilities . Especially since the infections had spread into the placeta and amniotic fluid .
The law in UK only allows baby born after 6 month to be incubated and transfered to premature units for special care.
lucas was only 5 month and 3 weeks , when my body gave up and I went through early contractions . He was delivered, stayed alive for 2 hours and died . The doctors recorded the cause as extreme premature .
Despite the doctors reasuring my family and I that there is 000.01% chance of such situation happening again . Within the last three years, history repeated itself and another pregnancy followed similar patterns .
Since we are still young and fertility problems are not seen as a disease, most individuals tend to over look our case. However, I can honestly confirm that as a loving couple we have been desperate to have a family of our own .
I am aware that some of you may think 'why would we spend that kind of money when there are others ways of becoming a parent'. This is beacuse we long to have our own Bundle of Joy that looks biologically to us. Shola and myself want a baby that looks like us, shares our blood and carries our genes.
Also I have my own eggs that is why as a couple we want to take such actions. I can relate to the fact that few people don't have this option, but I do and this is why we are seeking your help.
Some might say why now she's young and there is no emergency but fertility does decrease with age and to have better chance at ferlity treatments you have to be under a certain age so I only have another couple of years that I can do it, and the process can take up to two years. So there's not a lot of time to spare
We have spend huge amount of money on counselling , herbal treatments , baby preparations , health awareness seminars , weight lost management programe, with great hope this will help . We have started the process but need a little help along the way. Your act of kindness will help assist with some of the cost of IVF, medications, ongoing medical treatments, counselling and so many more.
As an optimistic couple we aim to seek the best clinicians and up to date fertility medication and treatments to make our dream come true .
Since charity begins at home we will aim to supports other family that have been affected by the death of a baby before , during or shortly after birth . With this in mind my husband and I want to set up an information service that educate all parents concerning issues in relation to health in pregnancy . We will cover rural area such as Ibadon and Oshogbo two major state in Nigeria West Africa .
We have a strong conviction that our story and journey to have a baby will aid to inspire those who are suffering in silence due to the stigma attached with infant loss ( witchcraft, fear of families ect)
Our bereavement support team will assist anyone who has experienced a pregnancy loss with general counselling to support anyone affected by the death from pre-birth to adults .
Finally , our faith in Jesus has helped to stay strong and be positive. With this outlook we believe that good things will come our way with prayers and your generous support .
We have started the process but need a little help along the way.
Please help make our dream come true by donating even if it just a small amount every penny counts.
