KUMAMOTO EARTHQUAKE 59 RELIEF FUND

Donation protected
Kumamoto Prefecture in southern Japan, was struck by a magnitude-7.3 earthquake on 16th April 2016, barely 24 hours after a previous shock of 6.5. The footage of the destructive power revealed the catastrophic events: toppled buildings and collapsed houses, the severely damaged Kumamoto Castle, and The Great Aso Mountain Bridge had fallen into a chasm. But worst of all, people have been deprived of a peaceful life. Since then, we believe that many people have been feeling completely helpless and frustrated; especially if they are far from family and friends who live there.

Therefore, we, the voluntary group of Seisei Senior High School in Kumamoto of the Class of 1984 (Showa 59th), have launched the KUMAMOTO EARTHQUAKE 59 RELIEF FUND. Our aim is to carry out prompt and flexible support for sufferers before they are able to receive donations from the government and charitable organizations. We would appreciate it if you could help our activities by sending donations.

The main purposes of the KUMAMOTO EARTHQUAKE 59 RELIEF FUND are as follows:

・ to assist students in need ( e.g. supply new uniforms, stationary or textbooks )

・ to offer some relief from the stresses of living as long-term evacuees; particularly vulnerable elderly people and children.

・ to support local young volunteer activities by providing funds.

Hello, my name is Shinri Endo, from Tokyo Japan. I am the campaign organizer of this GoFundMe, which is supported by my high school friends. We all graduated from Seiseiko High School, Kumamoto, Japan, where the earthquake occurred earlier last month. With the help of Shinjiro Kawakami, in Irvine, CA, and the class of 1984, we have organized this fund to help victims of the earthquake.

We are planning to contribute the funded money towards volunteer activities on the disaster site. This includes feeding food to elementary school students who have directly suffered from the collapse of their homes, and offering hot meals to other survivors. We would also like to support the local college students' voluntary activities at the disaster site.

Mr. Shinjiro Kawakami, as one of the representative founders of this fund, will withdraw the donations from your systems and wire transfer them to our primary bank account in Japan. From there, the funds will be directly spent toward disaster relief activities.
