Thank you for visiting my campaign. I hope you will take the time to read what my campaign is about & share it with others throughout the world.
My name is Nicholas Lark as you can see from my photo I appear aged by time. What you don't notice in my photo is the amount of hardship I have undertaken over time. Which after many years of my life as I or anyone in my position will say. Has been stolen from me. For any years I haved worked to raise money & awareness about what life is like for African Americans after being in Foster care systems to what life is like after. Through personal experience in Eastern Oregon. I am raising funds to through Gofundme to hopefully move away from Eastern Oregon completely. By raising funds I can avoid homelessness as much as possible. Before you ask what else I have done to offer a better solution for this. I have after unfortunate events in 2010 while residing here hit a dead end. By that I mean as you look again at my profile picture note I am African in heritage although I was never raised by my paternal parents. I am a African American. In 2010 just like present I continuesly face many barriers in residing at my current location in Eastern Oregon . As I would like to type about all of them here I don't want to bring that level of negativity bias here as it openly exsist where I currently live. So much so that I have resorted to building this page along with making plans to abandon the home I currently have by fleeing for my life. As from the very moment I first came here until now as I type this campaign. Things have constantly remained or gotten worse. I have tried multiple time to raise the funds on my own only to have to deal with the racial bias that operates heavily in this area by having to pay for repairs of damage by vandals or medical bills by attackers.
Despite trying to gain assistance from the local Dept. of Human (DHS)which happens to be maintained by many of the locals in the from the area. Whom have many times in the past have been known to help those in need but continue to deny me in such a way that has raised questions from departments in other parts of the state as to why has this been allowed to happen? No answers were given except that I should take responsiblity for the color of my skin, the reactions from people that it causes.
Now before you try to imagine why this kind of speculation has grown. I have never wanted to be referred to as N***er Nick. As the locals of Baker City are fond of calling me even though I rarely interacted with the locals after the intimidation & assaults became a daily occurance. But that is a little of the negative bias that brings me here. After once agian finding myself being entrapped with the idea of having to go through it all again I have decided to take durastic measures. As I originally moved here to escape my sole abusive parent & attend school. None of by the way has anything on the amount of hate & the denying of the amount of hate that exsist in Eastern Oregon as a whole. The area may pride itself as a tourist destenation but as to that being the areas sole reason to bury truths about what the area is as a population is another. Upon coming to the area you will instantly note the area is composed of 99% caucasians with intermittant hints of other nationalities. Counting myself I have only seen the same extremely tiny number of African Americans around. By tiny I mean less than 20 with that being a rough estament as I have only seen the same 10 over time. Before my unfortunate attack in 2010 that left me with nothing. ( I lost my job due to my attackers constantly showing up to my place of work with 25+ of their friends so they could intimidate & goad me into getting jump outside while the manager did nothing but watch.)
I was hospitalized when I repeatedly tried to explain the doctor that the money generated was to help me leave the area, he wouldn't sign my work release. When I finally did get a release signed I was told due to me not playing into the hands of my attackers while at work I wouldn't have a job. I spent what little I was able to save up on a job search spurred by a Dept. of Human services (DHS) worker who admitted to not caring about the events that took place but felt that I should continue to search for a job with a near destroyed resume that never was never to be found. My hopes crushed I made contact with the Social Security to start my claim as I was collecting it before moving to the area but had it discontinued so that I could live a regular life. I was regularly forced by the local Dept of Human service (DHS)office to search for work as my case at Social Security was being decided even though they were told that I have a case along with long term damages from what's been let to happen. I found myself being lead into pranks & stunts that were to instill a level of uncertainty in my life that furthered the idea of no longer having contact with locals as much as possible. As contact with them in just about every case left me financially responsible.
Now that you have read to this point your probably wondering about how come I didn't ask for help from a family member or parental figure. Once again Foster Care also I lived in many Group Homes throughout the San Francisco area. That & my sole parent is extremely abusive up to this day. The rest of my family I have never actually met.
So back into the ever darkening background as to why I'm asking for you the readers help.
After the vehicle I primarily used for transportation was vandalized repeatedly finally give up. I managed to try to get as far as I could only to make it no where as the area I'm in currently is just as bad. The city of La Grande 50mi from Baker City still in Eastern Oregon. From the day I moved into my apartment I was treated to constant harassment along with a level of intimidation that resulted in something new. Northeast Oregon Housing Authority (NEOHA) was encouraging it. When I would ask for help I would get the responce "If you don't like it pack your stuff & leave!" For it was during this period of attacks. I recieved my Social Security. Which was used to pay of various bills left over from 2010. Including replacing my destroyed vehicle, for the local dealership located downtown sold me a vehicle where the engine shuts off at random times while driving. After me & my service dog Holigraph were almost crushed by a semi truck on I-84 I tried to take the vehicle back sighting that the vehicle shouldn't have even had a "for sale" sign on it. When they tried to refuse I ended up having to call around the state for an oversight department on Auto dealerships. Luckily I also came into contact with a dealership that would take the vehicle & provide me with a better vehicle for the range I was limited to financially. Things at the apartment continued to decline with each passing day prompting me to take people to court to get help & to do all I could to research other locations to move to by learning as much about them as possible. When events at the building where I'm currently residing took yet another turn I enlisted the help of a Amazon Store card to purchase a Go Pro that to this day I have had to carry around. For many times as I would be on my way somewhere ( to take out my trash or get in my suv to run an errand. Including checking my mailbox.) typically the hallways would be empty but then I would find a notice on my door accusing me of situations I had no knowledge of. Situations that when investigated are found to have never actually taken place. But these notices were always an Eviction notice. When asked about it (NEOHA) staff would say the same as they said when the police cited my neighbor for continued stalking. "If you don't like what's going on then pack your stuff & leave!" I expained to them (NEOHA) that is not a proper answer nor is it ok to say that to someone that's coming to them for help. Even with the multiple times things like this has happened I often don't come to their office until my rent is due. Unlike the tenants who on record have broken many rules with what they are doing including the huge amount of laws (State & Federal) I noted that they to this date get away with. It took filming the entire 1hr 45min talk just to get staff to understand that I am sick of the one that is being treated in such a fashion meanwhile they (NEOHA) let the other tenants do whatever without any question. NEOHA resently moved in more supremacist who do the same as their counterparts. Even going as far as to complain to the local police department about having to live nextdoor to a person of color. When the talk between me & NEOHA happened I had all of the police report numbers along with several copies of police reports along with me to ask; Why are HUD (NEOHA) along with the tenants particpating racially targeting me? Then when I come to ask NEOHA for help with the matter I get told to pack my belongings & flee if I don't like being treated in such a way. An answer was never provided but through some staff I was told to watch my back. I also metioned this to the local DHS who made it a point to do not one thing. They even made me sign a release in which they still did nothing. Except talk with NEOHA about Section 8 portablity for which that talk happened between me & NEOHA already.
I have every meeting with DHS recorded for the history of me gaining the assistance to get help to Start a job as a Home Care Worker & to leave the area has been an experience of what denial of what is actually happening been a challenge. The lead worker of the facility has been around since attacks picked up before the major assault killed my chances. Although she often tried to hide it. It is to be noted that she admits in several of the videos to have knowledge of the way the demographic here operates. Even taking the time to admire a tattoo that I had covered up by another tattoo. Which the cover job on the tattoo tells the story of how long she has been straining my case for freedom. So here at this point I noticed that she has regularly changed my workers when they study my back history of files that are kept. Just to have me locked in a having to wait several months as the new worker is brought up to speed. Three to six meetings later a new worker & the circle starts again. When asked about how come she is working so hard to try to get me to stay in an area where my life is in constant danger from the bias that exist. She provides no real answer. Except that I need to give the area another chance. An area mind you that is filled with hate. When asked as to why an area full of hate would need another chance to threaten me, my home, vehicle, service dogs or any chance of having a healthy life. The subject gets changed.
After all of these years of search I found a job profession that would offer me a real future. I took some classes that she didn't know about for the Home Care Worker Program to become a certified caregiver. Ever since the news of me passing the DHS background check. The lead worker makes it a point to try to talk me out of the job. I am in La Grande for instance. As it turns out the classes are held everywhere but here. Even though in the meetings it's after repeating myself that I am uninterested in residing in Eastern Oregon in more due to the bias. The lead worker is recorded stating " she knows of the bias." Has made it so any Vocational Plan will not be made for me becoming a Home care worker. So when there is a meeting & the meeting reaches the point of looking for work. I am bullied into turning in applications to jobs that are comparable to fast food or have histories of issues of how they treat employees. Especially those of color. Not to mention the part where the Home Care jobs start at 15hr & go as high as.... There wouldn't be any need except for medical to have SSI. But during these meetings I am undermined into not getting any help with becoming a Home Care Worker. So much so that with the funds I do have after bills is to take to money spent on food for the month to make an attempt to plan the idea to drive to the cities in which the Certification (Cert)classes happen also the classes are free. And I wouldn't need a hotel room as mentioned at various times at the many meetings. I found myself asking the question as to why is this lead worker trying to come up with excuses as to why a plan can't be drawn up when I have done so much in the line of gaining another Cert known as a Homecare Choice. To prevent me from gaining the certifications that a number of the clients whom use the service hold preference on Homecare workers having before applying.
But as this Lead worker has done this when she was a supervisor when I first moved here. She has enlisted yet another new worker to try to talk me into a situation that does the following; Provides zero resource to moving, surrounds me with locals from the area that aren't at all nice, increases the amount in rent I'll end up paying in an apartment that houses people who get away with sickening incidents, also any food benefits which I get although small their loss would drive up the amount I spend a month & basically suck me into a community that does not treat me like a human being, along with the medication I take to treat a Migraine that never subsides. This plan is the same one used to trap me here.
The scare in this is that locals from this area know about the poor way people are treated. But then blame them for the treatment that they receive at the hands of locals. Then try hard to keep you here, by means that go beyond the norm. Insisting things will get better when the area is against any progression. Now as to how any funds from this campaign will be used.
The funds are to help me move to the city of Portland on the western side of Oregon as I have found myself communicating with other people about the area I am in. To find an area where I can thrive as an American. The funds shall be used to help with initail rent & deposit on a apartment. I am not picky about the part of Portland as it is a metro area compiled of many cities.
The need like any GoFundMe campaign is as immediate as I can find the assistance. But before winter is a true deadline. As of the typing this, I'm currently packing what belongings to flat out leave or abandon the apartment I currently have. Also the videos I speak of are on my account at Youtube/ Earthen Religion I will unmark them as private so they can be seen publicly.

The making of this page means to me that I was failed by several agencies (DHS branch #3111 & NEOHA). I exhausted the idea of ever getting any help resulting in me contacting the Client Assistance program in Oregon regarding the unfair treatment I have received. The lack of services I find myself wasting time & fuel to go to.
I have sent emails to just about oversight Dept in Oregon to get help with both NEOHA & DHS branch #3111. Including the ombudsman in Oregon regarding these places. I have lost years of my life trying to get some kind of assistance, let alone away from this area.
I would be beyond words to have found help on the internet from you the reader of this. To have known this page has been shared to others so the word can be spread about my time here. The experiences I have had so that no one has to go through the same.
