Helping Hand

In 2016 after having a routine medical check-up, I learned that I was having some kidney issues as a side effect to having diabetes over a sustained period of time. Although I continued to adjust my lifestyle to improve my overall longevity and health condition I continued to deteriorate with my kidney functions. My medical team tried to treat me aggressively with medications they only seem to help one issue and cause several others. At the recommendation of my nephrologist in November of 2018 I was put on the kidney transplant list and shortly after that in December I began dialysis. This was necessary for me to sustain my life until a Kidney donor became available for me. After 9 months of being on the kidney transplant list and 8 months of being on dialysis I have been fortunate to have a colleague step out on faith to donate a living organ on my behalf. This random act of kindness will ensure that I am able to sustain my life so that I may continue raising my two children, 8 year old son in a 12 year old daughter. I have spent the majority of my life in the public sector serving my community as I look forward to my renewed health so that I may re-engage my community. Although my health does not allow for me to work full-time employment I have been fortunate to have a job working in my local school as a temporary staff assistant working with students with autism. I find this Duty and responsibility to be very gratifying and humbling to the needs of others. I also get the benefit of working in an environment where my daughter is attending. It has been very humbling doing these trying times to receive so much prayer and uplifting by my friends, family and colleagues. I continue to call them now for strength and guidance doing these difficult times. At this time I seek your generosity to assist me with financial hardship as I Look to re-establish My overall health and well-being and secure a stable environment for my children and I.  a quick tally & just about every NBC station in the country aired it over the weekend.
