Hi friends of old and those we’ve yet to meet!
My son Lakota And I are here to provide a place where those who are interested in serving the community and making the world a better place - CAN.
I am a single mother and disabled veteran who currently lives in Bluffton, Ohio.
We are in a low income apartment at the monent and long for a true home. We’ve moved more times in my son’s life than I can count anymore and strongly desire to finally find and secure our home base.
I’ve found a home in the area that would be perfect for us, but alas, my disability income isn’t enough to get the loan approved. And at this time, I am staying at home with my young son :)
I want you to know that we are capable. That we are hard working and that I intend to do everything I can to succeed, for myself and especially my son.
I certaibly did not want to become a single mother! But here we are and I am choosing to continue pulling myself up by the bootstraps and moving forward. I am choosing to allow our broader community to serve in a way that would directly help a single mother and her 3 year old son in need.
We don’t need much, but help purchasing a home would certainly put us in a position where we wouldn’t need anything! And would then FINALLY put us in a position to GIVE.
I cannot tell you all how much I long to give back. But because we have been struggling for so long, that’s all I’ve had the energy for - sustaining ourselves and surviving.
I desire to get in a position where I can finally follow my passions and creative pursuits so that I can give back, help others in need, and ultimately contribute to my community - the same way they’ve helped us along the way :)
Having our own home feels so much like the first step in getting on the right path to giving back. And with your help, we can do it!!
If you’ve ever wondered where the best organizations or places are to help / donate - I’ve always thought that single mothers around you were a great place to do that, locally. It provides a direct positive impact and literally helps feed a small child =)
The less money we have to put toward the house - the more we can focus on our passions and on helping others in positions like ours.
Will you join our journey to a life of thriving instead of just surviving? We welcome you and hope that your gift to us brings you so much joy. We can then share our joy with others!!
We will continue ‘pay it forward’ in all the ways we can, until the end of time. We love you all and are so grateful.
The house we want is asking 145k - the amount I’m asking for here is roughly half of that - I am certain I can get approved for between 50-75k and if the other half is matched (+ a little more for an emergency fund, we will be set).
