Hi!
My name is CJ Westenhofer and I've been active in scouting for 11 years. During this time, I have gone on numerous camping trips, learned valuable life lessons, and had many awesome adventures. Now I've reached the final leg in my scouting career: achieving the highest rank of Eagle Scout. To do this, one of the biggest requirements is to carry out a service project.
As an athlete for Saugus High School's Cross Country and Track & Field teams, I have decided for my service project that I would restore the deteriorating 'S' on the hill behind Saugus High School as it is in plain view from the track, the school, and the surrounding streets and community. Currently, overgrowth on the surrounding hillside, graffiti, warped boards, and sun damaged paint is causing the 'S' to be asthetically unattractive. Since this is an iconic landmark and sybol for the school, and my hometown, I want to restore it to its former glory.
I believe restoring the 'S' will give the school a better image, and enhance our community pide
Unfortunatley some aspects of this project, paint in particular do not come cheap. I am predicting I will need roughly $1,800 to pay for the necessary supplies required for the project, with the majority of the funding going towards new boards, and paint. With the deadline to do this project coming up fast, I am hoping to have the funds by July 2. If there is extra money after the completion of the project, I will donate it to a fellow athlete and friend of mine who is also doing a service project for Saugus High School involving tribute to the military.
Words cannot express how much I appreciate your help. Even the smallest amount will be a steping stone towards my goal.
Thank you,
CJ
