Help Danielle care for orphans
If you know me it is unusual for me to ask instead of give. I really need your help. It has been my dream and goal to be an educator in Africa. After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in Psychology this May, an amazing opportunity opened for me. This summer I was invited to help change the lives of underprivileged orphans in Tanzania, Africa. With your support, and donations to cover my expenses I will be able to help these children.
I have been asked by Anne Wells, founder of Unite Africa ( http://uniteafricafoundation.org) to come to Tanzania to provide educational assessments to the children and adolescents of the St. Joseph's orphanage. This is a once and a lifetime opportunity and I need your support.
I have just been accepted into Russell Sage College this fall to begin my Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism. Additionally, for the past three years, I have been working as a developmental specialist for Connec-to-Talk providing 1-1 applied behavior analysis (behavioral) therapy to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Because of my work skills and education I will be able to make a difference in the lives of these orphans and partake in this opportunity, but not fund it. I cannot afford to continue my education and pay for this trip, which is why I need your help.
I will be in Tanzania the first two weeks of August 2016 to create and implement programs to help these children live a better life and reach their goals. I cannot do this without your help. So please donate via this website.
My goal is to provide these orphans with a future, enhance their academic education so they can be independent, help them developmentally, and give them the support they need to succeed even though they were abandoned. Please support me so I can support them.
YOUR FUNDS WILL GO TO:
· Supplies that will ensure my safety and health.
As many of you know this summer, I was given an incredible opportunity that I was only able to accept with your help and support. I traveled to Saint Joseph's Orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania. For three weeks, I completed academic and social assessments on each of the children there. Through these, I learned so much about life at the orphanage. The struggles that each of these amazing children have overcome are nothing less than overwhelming. As you glance at the pictures of these happy and healthy children, I hope you keep in mind that they are in a good place. My goal and the goal of Unite is to keep them healthy, educated, and able to have a second chance at life.
Meeting Sister Crispina, the founder of this orphanage has truly changed my life. She has raised 50 children from nothing and with nothing. She has not complained – she believes that God has carried her this far and continues to bless her. Sister has made Saint Joseph's Orphanage a family, meaning that none of the children can be adopted. Instead, they all live together as brothers and sisters. They have already suffered terrible things and do not have parents; there is no more room for suffering in their lives. Therefore, I am asking that you take a moment and consider supporting one child's education. You have the power to give one orphan the opportunity to live a better life, to not have to struggle another day. If you are interested in supporting a child's education, as an individual or a group, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
I wanted to say thank you, thank you for believing in me and supporting me with my dream of helping at Saint Joseph's Orphanage. Without you I would have never been able to take this trip. The experience I have gained from your generosity has changed my life and will continue to change the lives of many orphans. I will post another update which contains pictures and details of my trip, I cannot wait to tell you all about it :) THANK YOU!
Today is the day! As I prepare to catch my flight I wanted to thank all of you for making this possible. Your support means everything to me. I am grateful for your kindness and making my dreams come true. I will not have electricity for the next 3 weeks so if I do not respond to you please know that I will as soon as I am able. I cannot wait to share my experiences with you. THANK YOU!
This is my last update until my journey. I will be arriving in Tanzania on July 30th exactly 22 days!! I just wanted to thank you so much for all of your support. I am so close to the $5,000 mark. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and to make it happen, I need your financial support. With your help I will be able to change the lives of underprivileged orphans. So please help me reach my goal and pray for my journey.
