Blue Water, Blue Skies, Blue Chairs

How would you like to help turn Traverse City’s Open Space into a Welcome Space? Have you ever wished for a comfortable chair without lugging one from the car? 

The blue chairs purchased for Clinch Park are in constant use for sunset viewing, people watching, or book reading.  A few more chairs would make a great addition to other parts of the bayfront as well. 

Problem is the city coffers are pretty slim for place making projects like this.  Each chair (durable and heavy enough not to be stolen) costs $625!  So let’s empower ourselves as residents and help make it happen.

You can purchase a single chair and have it identified as a gift or make a smaller gift to contribute to an unmarked chair.  Let’s do this thing and have the chairs ready for warm autumn evenings spent enjoying our glorious West Bay views.

As a volunteer in Traverse City governance, I often feel frustrated that great ideas don't get realized because we have a limited tax base.  It would be wonderful to harness the energy of visitors and locals alike to make our Lake Michigan jewel even more accessible as a place to gather and enjoy.
