Quadfathers/CNYRD in honor of Peach

Donation protected
On April 16, 2016, Tom LaClaire (Peach #27) of the Quadfathers and Central New York Roller Derby lost his battle with addiction. The local roller derby community, while devastated with this loss, is on a mission to raise awareness and provide help for others with similar struggles.

Our goal is to raise funds to donate to The Addictions Crisis Center of the Rescue Mission of Utica (ACC ) that has helped many people in our community begin their recovery from substance abuse. We will be donating the proceeds raised by the 50/50 at our next bout on May 15 where the Quadfathers will also retire the number 27, but we know that people who cannot attend may want to help out so we started this GoFundMe as a way to involve the rest of the community, near and far.

The ACC is a FREE medically monitored withdrawal service, meeting the needs of those who are intoxicated by alcohol and/or other substances, who are suffering from mild withdrawal, are in a situational crisis and are unable to abstain from those substances. In a motivational, safe, structured setting, clients are screened for the presence and severity of chemical dependency and/or medical and mental health services.

We will never recover from the loss of Peach, our teammate, coach, friend, brother... but we hope that his life and his story will touch others and encourage those struggling to seek help. You are loved, and you will be missed.

Rest in Peach.
