As many of you may know, Christie Barbara is a lifelong resident of Washington Township. After being raised here herself, Christie chose to also raise her own children in this great town. Christie is a single mom with two school age daughters that currently attend Washington Township Public Schools, one in the high school and one in Wedgwood Elementary School. Christie and her children belong to St. Charles Parish. They are an integral part of the Washington Township Wildcat’s U9 Soccer family! Anyone that has had the pleasure of Christie's company over the years, knows that she is an all-round, great person and even better mother. This past spring, Christie was diagnosed with cancer and began intensive chemotherapy. She has since had surgery and was diagnosed with Appendix Cancer, which is extremely rare, affecting only [phone redacted] American’s each year. It had gone undetected for quite some time and still requires much more treatment. She has a long road to recovery ahead of her and could really use the assistance of her family, friends and community to help alleviate some of the burdens that this diagnosis has created. Christie is still unable to work at this time. As you can imagine, this is not only a physical struggle but a financial burden. Please help support our cause, “Christie’s Cause” ... all proceeds will go directly to Christie and her girls.
