I have started this gofund me page for my friends Melissa and Leif and their beautiful baby boy Liam.
Liam has a condiiton called Plagiocephaly, also known as flat head syndrome, plagiocephaly is a condition characterized by an asymmetrical distortion (flattening of one side) of the skull.Preliminary research indicates that babies with plagiocephaly comprise a high-risk group for developmental difficulties.
After exhausting all therapy options the last resort is to have Liam fitted for specially designed infant headware.
The specially designed infant headwear with a support roll which ensures the head is positioned correctly and can be adjusted every few hours. This eliminates any potential flat spots and prevents them in the critical early growth stages of the child's life.
The cost of this medical equipment is not covered by MCP or insurance and requires a large sum of money upfront just to have a mold made of Liams head.
As you can imagine, this is a very unexpected expense and so I have started this page in the hopes that we can fundraise this money for Liam. Any amount will help.
