The Good Goddess Project

We are a small group of women who would like to help less advantaged women. We were inspired to reach out to women who are on the edge of poverty, refugees, abused women and homeless and help provide them with empowering sanitary care.
In the news lately it has come to light that even women in this country are having to go without.

“Period poverty” – A Problem of Poverty, Dignity, and Feminine Hygiene.
When women and girls struggle to pay for basic sanitary products each month, it causes a significant negative impact on their hygiene, health and wellbeing.

“Girls in the UK are missing school because they cannot afford sanitary protection,” Freedom4Girls Charity.

So this project was born....

Mission Statement

Our project, 'The Good Goddess Project' aims  to provide empowering sanitary care to all women in need.

Our period, our power.

See facebook/The Good Goddess Project for recent developments.

Short-term goals:

* provide immediate sanitary care options in the U.K. where we are able to
* Establish a solid foundation as a basis for our work
* Share on our Facebook page information and media that is in alignment with our overall goals
* Create a strong network of women to include permanent project team members and supporters
* Educate ourselves about menstruation and women's cycles

Medium-term:

* Provide sanitary care options both in the U.K. and other countries
* Create and share via social network sites positive education about menstruation and sustainable sanitary products
* Encourage the re-empowerment of women's cycles and the journey from child to woman
* Hold safe space for women to discuss openly their own experiences of menstruation and use the information to shape the future of the project, focus our intention and direct our next steps where appropriate
* Seek out opportunities to support a change in culture regarding menstruation and sanitary products
* Develop a 'brand' and promote the project and it's ideals throughout the world

 Long-term:

* Ensure as many women in need as possible have access to choices regarding their own sanitary care options
* Lobby the U.K. government and insist on the removal of V.A.T. from sanitary care products
*Create a structure that allows women in deprived areas to make a living from the creation and sale of sustainable sanitary products
* Change the taboo's of menstruation replacing them with the truth and assisting the adjustment of belief systems on the topic to more positive ones
*Build a new culture of care, compassion and understanding for young women starting their periods, helping them to grow into self-loving women who are empowered by their period and never held back by it
* Healing women through gynecological trauma relating to the womb, yoni and menstruation
