In Loving Memory of Laura Gomez

18 year old Laura Gomez Cuartas, was a bright young girl with a promising future taken suddenly in a violent act on Thursday afternoon, March 30, 2017. She was the only child of a single mother who is disabled and can not work. The mother relies on social security disablitiy income and rent income from a border. She was getting ready to graduate from high school this May and was planning on going to a community college near home, so that she could live at home to help her mother. Her heart was with handicapped children and she was active in the best buddies program at her high school. She was planning on becoming a teacher to work with disabled children. She had recently taken a part time job at Universal Studios working at the Harry Potter themed park. She was so excited to get this job because she loved the Harry Potter books and movies. This sudden loss has left Laura's mom not only heart broken but in financial hardship as she tries to cover funeral expenses.
