Zoo Enrichment Wish List

Our oldest son has been a participant in a wonderful FREE program at a nearby zoo this past year called FALCONERS (Families of Autistic Learners CONnecting Empathy, Responsibility and Stewardship). The zoo received a grant that funded this amazing program, making it assessable to ALL families on the autism spectrum, regardless of financial ability. It has been a wonderful experience not just for our son, but our whole family.
The monthly events are educational and fun!
The program inspires children on the spectrum to try new things, learn new skills, and develop a love for the natural world around them. Participants learn how to make enrichment projects for the animals as well (and the animals really enjoy them!)
Each year at Christmas our family picks a project that helps others or betters the world around us. This year we have decided to help the zoo. We would like to repay the zoo staff, volunteers, and critters by fulfilling as many requests on the Enrichment Wish List tree as possible!
Oh sure, we can pick out a few affordable items, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to provide them with some bigger ticket items off their list?!?! These folks need to know their time and effort in providing this program has made a difference in so many folk’s lives.
The zoo gave us the gift of this amazing program, now we want to shower them with things they need. If you give during the holiday, trust me, this is a great place. Never gave before? Think of it as simply giving up a cup of coffee or a burger out. You won't miss it but the animals at the zoo will be tails over paws excited by the enrichment toys, food, etc that will be purchased with the money.
The zoo and this program has been a gift to so many families and we would like to be able to repay that gift by making their day brighter this holiday season!
