Zoey Lynn Zint brightened our world February 24th, 2004 and left our lives forever dark when she died suddenly on March 9th, 2018. Daughter of DeLee and David Zint and sister to Lexie, Zoey was a beautiful, vibrant, young soul that was loved by all who knew her. Described as the girl that lit up the room
and famous for her smile, Zoey will forever be missed.
Tragically, Zoey impulsively left us after a senseless cyber-bullying attack. Our family covets prayers and financial support at this time. We face a future void of a beautiful daughter, sister and cousin, full of constant heartache as well as financial devastation, due to the fact that Zoey was uninsured. Funds are necessary for medical bills and a funeral in the very near future. Our family thanks you in advance for your financial support and prayers.
Please help spread the word about the effects of cyber bullying and how widespread the ripples of devastation can be felt. Hug your kids every day and tell your loved ones every day what they mean to you.

Psalm 71:1-3

Looking to the week ahead and our kids returning to school after the longest spring break ever, we are anxious as well as hopeful.
We hope that our kids will return to school changed in positive ways. We pray that they are kinder to one another and that Zoey’s death somehow perpetuated that change.
Kindness is contagious. It begins at home with our teachings. Maybe we, as parents, can all be kinder to our children, seeing them as gifts from God, on loan to us, sometimes for short periods of time.
Zoey’s life was cut too short, but we pray that the impact of her life and her death will be felt far and wide. The ripples felt from acts of kindness can be just as far reaching as the devastation that bullying causes. Kindness can save a life as easily as bullying can take a life. We MUST teach kindness and choose to love.
Please stand with the Zint’s and honor Zoey. Your help can save another child’s life taken from a senseless act of cyber bullying.

We thank God that he gave Zoey the gift of salvation and that gift will never be taken away; that she is resting in the arms of Jesus her savior.
We thank God for the fact that Zoey was found still responsive enough that her parents and sister were able to speak to her one last time.
We thank God for a close family that was and will be able to come together in support of one another during this horrific time and in the future.
We thank God for a church packed with souls that might be changed with messages during Zoey’s funeral. Our hope is that souls will be saved through Brother Bob’s message.
We thank God that we have a mission and a platform to speak from in the future. So many suicides occur without a hopeful message to be spread from their loved one’s passing.
We thank God for the support and love of the Amarillo community and all of our friends and loved ones who have given in the name of #zoeysstory and in the hope to educate and end cyber-bullying.
We thank God for Zoey’s beautiful life, however short.

PLEASE, please continue to share anything you see about #zoeysstory, cyber-bullying and spreading love. We will not be able to escape social media. It’s now a way of life. What we can do however, is #spreadlove through social media. Teach our children to be kind by standing up for those that are weak and those that are being bullied. Be certain that only you and your own children, not even their best friends, have access to their phone’s passcode and social media passcodes.

Not one of us will ever fully understand why Zoey left us. How can we understand? But what we do know is this: we have promised Zoey and all of you, that we will make good come from this tragedy. We will use Zoey’s story to save other children’s lives.
Ours is not to understand, but to trust.
Please trust us.
We vow today, the day that we lay Zoey’s body in the ground, that we will raise up her voice. We will use the funds remaining after funeral and medical bills are settled, to develop a foundation, a platform, to educate others. We, with the help of #zoeysstory and The Zoey Zint Memorial funds, will work to prevent other teenage suicides that result from cyber-bullying.
Once again, we covet prayers on this day as we try to say our goodbyes to beautiful Zoey.

We continue to be amazed, comforted and strengthened by the outpouring of love from all of you. The number of shares alone, reassures us that #ZoeysStory is going to save another child.
We see the working of God’s hand in all of this. He will guide us, teach us and strengthen us so that we may persevere through this.
